Hi Dan, something must change while across the Pond because FOX

doesn't show the games here. Its on Versus AND NBC so somehow,

via satellite, FOX must pick it up for Europe.

I've been there!! Started the year with a trip with the Hawks to Helsinki, Finland and have not missed a game all year. I would be devistated if I couldn't catch the games on the ship!!

Legend has it that it started during the 1985 playoffs when the Hawks played against Edmonton. It has continued ever since and the 1991 All-Star game in Chicago features prominently in discussions on the subject of patriotism since the Gulf War was on at the time.

Oh...so it really is a very current tradition. I follow the other major

sports but live in the South so hockey is not really big down here

(except in the Tampa area).

When the Gulf War was on did the NHL talk about changing it?

I know who Gary Bettman is....I don't know if he was the Commissioner

Friends of mine are in Philly today and have obtained a valuable 117 year old silver chalice. It`s quite large. Will they be allowed to bring it through TSA security? Will it fit in the overhead compartment of the airplane?

Methinks the Hawks are likely on a charter flight so that takes a lot of the nonsense out of the equation in terms of getting on a plane. The bottom line, though, is that they do have an extra passenger tonight and it's a fantastic feeling.

Not a true fan of either team, although i was rooting for the Hawks! I get chills no matter what team is hoisting Lord Stanley's chalice. Congrats Hawks fans...watch out though...my Kings are building a very dominant team!

Congrats to Hawks fans from a FLYER fan. Your team played well and deserved the victory. This series redeemed a rather disappointing regular season for our Flyers and gives us hope for next season. I think that the real winner was the NHL. The teams gave us a terrific series.
