What's the average rotation? Wondering who will be on Harmony on Aug 5? Will it still be Gus or will Johnny be back?

 

Just off Harmony. Gus is replaced by Johnny on September 2, so you will have Captain Gus. I have sailed 3 times with him, always enjoyed him as Captain, and would welcome a future sailing with him. You should like him.

I have only had one recent Captain that I didn't care for much, and in hindsight, didn't care for another who I sailed with many years ago. Not posting their names, but one is still on the list, and one isn't.

Wondering about 12/29 cruise on Vision.

Regular rotations can get changed during holiday cruises I'm sure:)

 

 

Captain Marek told me at one point he would be leaving after the first sailing in January 2018. I'll ask again. I come onboard 1/12 and will miss him. I know that.

Thanks. People say good things about him. I'm wondering if NYE trip on Vision might be a bit staid for younger family members ? I've even looked at Carnival Valor as an alternative:eek:

I can't imagine Valor as an alternative. Vision's Centrum and pool deck are always hopping. Captain Marek is as personable a captain as I've ever had, and the individual attention by staff is awesome. Of course you know what kinds of FUN your family likes.

Heard that Captain Thore Thorolvsen has retired. This was from Captain and Hotel Director on Harmony. Best wishes to him!

Terrific Captain - had the good fortune to meet and speak with him for some time on Oasis in 2012. Because of the TV video piece (shown on Smithsonian and Discovery channels for years) about that ship, he became somewhat of a "rock star".

 

We hope he really enjoys his retirement, as he brought many good cruising memories to thousands of passengers over a long period of time.

Does anyone know where Captain Frank Martinsen is at? Don't see him listed or mentioned anywhere.

 

I had heard that he was unwell last Fall, and as a result, has yet to return to a ship.

Capt Marek had a slightly shorter vacation when he joined on May 22.

 

 

Because of that, his vacation will be slightly longer. He told me he was returning for the Galveston repo on Oct. 23. Of course, always subject to change.
