Good Wednesday morning from the Ruby Princess. Today is our third full day at sea en route to Florida. Yesterday, was a very restful day at sea albeit the seas were quite rough. Didn't do very much other than working out in the morning. We did have our roll call luncheon at noon. It was very well attended. As the cruise is nearing it's end it is still nice to get together with fellow roll call members.

Weather today is much better than yesterday. Partially cloudy with sunshine. The wind has noticeably lessened and the seas are smoother. It's shaping up to be a nice restful day at sea.

Today's morning movie in MUTS is the Green Hornet at 1000. The afternoon and evening MUTS offerings are a Take That Live concert at 1200, Just Go With It at 1300, Morning Glory at 1500, and Larry Crowne at 1915 and 2215.

The Piazza has the usual music throughout the day and magician Peter Gossamer at 1600. Crooners, Adagio, and the Wheelhouse bar have the usual piano players and group offerings this evening. In Explorers lounge is juggler Aaron Bonk at 2030 and 2230. Tonight in the Princess Theater is the crew talent show.

One thing I've noted on this cruise is the entertainment are somewhat lacking in quality and variety. This is just a personal observation and I know others might very well have a different opinion.

Hope All are well.....:):):)

We certainly agree about the enertainment. Only 3 production shows over 18 days. Every act is repeated 2 nights. Big choices tonight are the crew show or the juggler. A new comedian got on in Lisbon and has only done 1 show.

Hi Bob and Sun Viking,

Have either of you tried the pub lunch that I hear is served on Sea Days? If so, what kind of items were they serving, and in which area of the ship?

I am really enjoying reading about your cruise, and look forward to viewing the pictures!

Enjoy your sea days!

The singers and dancers on that ship probably were only trained for those three shows and the sets on board are probably only for those three shows.

The trans-Atlantic is outside the normal length of a regular Ruby cruise, so the three shows onboard suffice for most of the Ruby itineraries.

Good morning from the Ruby Princess. Fourth full sea day en route to Florida. A little sad to think that in 3 days we'll be getting off the ship. Tonight is our last formal night. Will be nice to put the tux on for one laast time. IMHO, renting a tux is the way to go.

Regarding thr pub lunch. It is served in the Wheelhouse bar. It is not on every sea day as I first thought. I think they have it one more day on this cruise. Not sure if it's today or tomorrow.

Sue, I never located your waiter friend.....

The three shows playing in the Princess theather on the Ruby are:

Stardust, Once Upon a Dream and playing tonight: Broadway Ballroom

with the singers Crystal, Jim, Ryan and Geneviève Leclerc from Montréal,

QC. Just finished skyping with Gen. She had to leave for rehearsal, sound

check in the theather. Genevieve is my "dear daughter". For those on the

ship, hope you have an enjoyable evening at the theather.

We were lucky enough to be able to meet and spend some time with Crystal on our Venice and Greek Island cruise in September. We saw the shows and thought Crystal, Genevieve, Jim and Ryan were all fabulousl. I certainly understand why you are such a proud Daddy. They put on awesome shows.

Hi Bob, Glad the cruise is going well. A favor, if you should see Wanda tell her the Blog Police are after her.

Thanks, Bruce

Greetings from the Ruby Princess on a glorious sea day. Yesterday turned out to be a pretty nice day as well once some early fog and sprinkles disappeared. Today it's sunny and calm. We're heading up to the Sanctuary shortly.

We've had a couple of great meals the last two nights. On Wednesday evening we went to the Crown Grill and everything was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. Last night a group of us went to Sabatinis and we closed the place down. Again the food was excellent and we had wonderful service.

Bruce, last time I saw Wanda was a few days ago when we were doing some bouncing around and she wasn't feeling well. I haven't seen her since and I hope she's better now that the seas are calm.

Well, off to do more relaxing. This is hard work :)!

I hope that you are all enjoying the calm seas and sunny skies, that I can see from the bridge cam today, on the Ruby! :)

Question, I was wondering if they are serving a more formal tea in the afternoons onboard?

There is talk of tea on the Promenade deck, but I am wondering about tea in a more formal setting.

Thanks for your reply, and interesting reports from the Ruby!

Good f

Friday afternoon from the Ruby Princess. Today is our fifth full sea day while en route to Florida. Last night was our last formal night. We ate at the Crown Grill. The food was good but not great. Service was very good.

Weather today is outstanding. Sun is out and seas are calm. Spent several hours in the aft jacuzzi right above the terrace pool. Actually got a very slight sunburn. Got several things done today associated with the cruise ending. Most of my packing is done and I also paid off my account (excluding any last minute alcohol purchases :)).

I also cashed the extra travelers checks I had. Interesting thing happened related to cashing the travelers checks. After I cashed them I went into the casino and gambled for about 30 minutes. When I got back to the stateroom DW told me that I needed to head back down to passenger services because there was a problem related to cashing in the travelers checks. Seems though they gave me too much money when I cashed them. After checking my folio printout I realized they actually gave e $500.00 too much. Went back to passenger services and gave them back the extra money. The passenger services agent was very relieved to see me.

Last night we went t a production show called "Broadway Ballroom" in the Princess Theater. the show was very good and toe vocalists were great.

Nothing much else to report other than we'll be off the ship the day after tomorrow and I'll be back at work in four days.....:(:(:(

Hope All Are Well.....:):)

Hi dad of a singer. We will be on Ruby in Jan/ Feb. Will your daughter still be on at that time? We are from Quebec and it would be fun to see her perform.:):)

Bonjour

Yes, she better be. lol. I'll be on the Ruby for a back to back on january 22nd

and the 29 th to see all her shows including two times on the same night.

Her contract ends about the end of february unless she asks for an extension

and gets it. So, at the end of february there will be a change of dancers and singers.

New cast comes on and gradually blends in for some shows over a 2 week?

period.

We went to the show last night and she did an awesome job! The other female singer had microphone issues but she covered it nicely.

Las night (Friday) w went to the theater production – Broadway Ballroom - and it was very good. It’s been awhile since we saw this one so it was almost like a new show. Stayed for the adult comedy show in the Princess theater with Tom Briscoe. Had seen him earlier when he was in the Explorers Lounge and thought he had a good show. This show was to be his Las Vegas show so we expected it to be funny but it wasn’t IMO. Maybe the theater was too large a venue and lacked the up close feel of the Explorers Lounge. Very few laughs and at the end I felt he was telling jokes one after another to try and get some laughs.

I think the highlight of today’s entertainment is going to be the Alabama vs LSU college football game (satellite permitting). Will be showing in Club Fusion and MUTS. Since we are from Alabama, guess we will be watching the game. I’m going to also try and watch the Princess Passenger Pop Choir. This will be my first opportunity since they have been doing this.

Thanks Bob for the “live” and looking forward to your review. We have enjoyed the cruise and all the ports and getting to meet some of the "Red Hot Rubies".

If any one reading this is getting on the Ruby tomorrow please know that the Ruby will have to have a Coast Guard inspection since she is comming from Europe. This will probably delay embarcation. Just be prepared to have to wait to board longer than usuall.

On the Disembarkation Talk Show we were told that we should be arriving around 6 am and start to disembark at 7:15am. Hopefully that won't be too far off actual time especially for those with early flight times.

Welcome home all you Red Hot Rubies. Be aware you may be in for a bumpy ride tonight. Enjoyed the "live from" Bob.

Safe journey's home everyone.

Up to 15-foot waves expected this weekend in South Florida

http://www.sun-sentinel.com

Waves towering up to 15 feet will rake South Florida beaches this weekend, creating dangerous rip currents and threatening to tear more sand from eroded shorelines.
