Nope, no way, Please don't ... There's no way this won't lead to excessive drinking and I don't really like to be around drunks. There's no way this package makes any sense unless you are drinking to excess.

Whatever. 6 drinks a day over the course of my vacation does not make it excessive.

I vote yes.

I would like to see something where I can purchase a bottle in cabin, and then I can have a nice relaxing drink on my own private balcony. I don't drink that much that I would buy a drink package for a seven day cruise. One of the reasons for paying for a balcony is to use it. If I pay RCI a handsome fee for the privilege, RCI makes their money, I enjoy a few casual drinks with the company of my wife, don't get drunk, have an enjoyable relaxing vacation, and come back again to spend more time and money with RCI.

Well, there is a way to purchase a bottle that you can enjoy with your wife and that would be to cruise Carnival. You're allowed to bring on 1 bottle of wine or champagne per adult and bottles of liquor can be purchased through their Bon Voyage program. And if the glitzy decor is too much for you, check out the new Caribbean influenced Carnival Breeze....very subdued.

6 drinks a day, every day is a lot to drink.

Vote No

Dont forget this covers soda too.

I would probably drink 4 sodas over the day10- 3pm,a cocktail and a beer at lunch12-3pm,2 glasses of wine at dinner6-8pm,and a rum and coke or 2 at the show8-11pm.

That spread out over 13 hrs!

I dont think i will be swaying?

I think the people who drink sensibly over the day far out weigh those power drinkers.

And lets not forget everytime you get a drink its noted so people will be refused if they start getting silly.

I read somewhere on a review they slow your service down after 6 anyway.

If this is 6 in a certain space of time i dont know?

So yes dont forget it covers the cost of sodas and virgin cocktails too.

It doesnt have to all be alcohol.

It's too bad the power drinkers ruin it for everyone

I love my beer and drink more of it than is healthy (Just being honest) but my opinion would be to answer NO. The reason, as soon as alcohol becomes part of a package the variety of beer will undoubtedly shrink. They will probably supply a one brand suits all brand (as they usually do in all inclusive hotels in Caribbean), it will be the cheapest beer they can get their hands on or the the cheapest brands of spirits.

While as I pay as I go at least I will get something that I like.

Need everyone who reads to this to reply with a yes.

Royal Caribbean has introduced an on board alcohol package on three ships. Its not cheap but its cheaper than bar charges if you indulge more than a couple of drinks a day.

Its a good deal for those clients that would like a more reasonable costing of their drinks, and

It'sgood for Royal Caribbean as it provides a reasonable alternative to those who would otherwise breach the no bringing booze on board policies.

Carnival is very successful with their Bon Voyage Packages. And, many guests are taking the package and abandoning sneaking booze aboard.

Need to promote this idea get alcohol package options on RCCL.

Rely with a yes.

yes with you they had a booze package on the legend of the seas last year.

YES, worth it for us, 2 reasons, paid in advance, no shock at the final bill ,

and 2nd, the convenience, on other lines, these packages cover everything, water, lattes, special after dinner coffees, juice, soda, wine, after dinner cordials and mixed drinks. It works for us, I hope Royal will consider it fleet wide. :D

Is the drink package available on all ships sailing form Europe, or only certain ships?

Sailing on the navigator the 14th of October on my first cruise and would love to have the option of the drinks package, to avoid the worry of having a big bill at the end of the week.

Typical.

Care to elaborate on that??? What do you mean "typical"?

And I still vote YES!!!! We have smuggled but never even touch the stuff we bring with because we are usually out and about around the ship. I would absolutely love to have my total cost already factored in before sailing!!!

This is the one I wish Royal would put in place and not make everyone over the age of 21 in a stateroom purchase one!!!

Don't forget milkshakes and smoothies!!!:D

Yes I definitely think they should have alcohol packages available on all ships. We have also sailed with celebrity, and they have packages available. I paid $350 for the packag, but it was unlimited drinks of every kind. I mean frozen, wine, after dinner drinks and regular cocktails. It was great. I didn't have to watch my bar bill and there were no surprises at the end of the trip. There package also included soda, juice and bottled water!!!

On the independence earlier this year the alcohol package led to lots of drunk rowdy people- not our scene. People appeared to be drinking as much alcohol as they could to make it worth their while. With pay as you go drinks people drink what they want to rather than trying to maximise their savings. Alcoholic drinks packages lead to irresponsible drinking in my opinion. Could take a leaf out of celebrity's book and offer premium soft drinks package.

This should not be unexpected and it doesn't take too many jerks drinking too much to ruin things.

May I ask how you knew the 'drunk rowdy people' purchased the alcohol package???

I vote yes. I would like to be able to buy a bottle of Crown for our room. We did this on one of our cruises on Carnival. We don't drink a lot but do like to have a cocktail in the evening while getting ready for dinner. We end up drinking from the bars and other areas so we do spend money but the bottle in the room is convenient. I doubt we would purchase an unlimited package if the price was $350pp, don't think my husband and I drink $700 worth of anything in a week. lol

Not sure what I would be saying yes to. Yes to a alcohol package or yes to a program

of being able to buy a bottle of alcohol like Carnival Bon Voyage program.

I like the Bon Voyage program as one bottle of vodka (1 liter) is enough for DW and myself.

We also like the Carnival 1 bottle of wine per person policy. We would never be able make an alcohol program "pay".

Also don't want to be around people who are "very successfully" making it pay.

Just cruise on Celebrity Cruise Line and you eliminate all your problems. And you can even bring on two bottle of wine per cabin.

Maybe if you are friend of Bill W or some killjoy.

What happens if you sit by the pool for 3 hours and have one an hour ( certainly not excessive) then you have a glass of wine with dinner ( certainly not excessive), then you have one cocktail during the show (again, certainly not excessive) and then finally you have a night cap in the casino while playing some blackjack ( again, one cocktail- not excessive).

I want you to keep in mind a 180 person can have one drink every hour to hour and a half for 9 hours and still not be over the legal limit to drive in most jurisdictions (.08 BAC)

To quote the illustrious Peter Griffin, you're more of a buzz kill than Buzz Killington.
