Famous People Sailing on Royal Caribbean

Hmmm... on the ESPN Superbowl cruise last year on Navigator I hung out in the hot tubs with one of the ESPN talking heads. Also talked to several NFL players -- Superbowl rings are huge, btw. :D

On Freedom last November I talked to Lewis Black and Greg Proops, but they were both there for the Lewis Black Comedy tour.

I guess that's it. The key thing is that these people were on the ships for specific purposes and not to just hang out on vacation. I've never seen any famous people just taking a normal vacation. :)

There was a Star Trek convention on our NCL cruise out of Honolulu. Yes, we met

Sulu in Honolulu! ;) :D George Takei was boarding the ship with the group.

He was on the ship all week, and we got to talk to him and his partner on the elevator

one day. They had just finished a class on Hawaiian bead making and showed us their

new Puka shell necklaces.

we were on a celebrity cruise and Jaimie Lynn Siegler (meadow from the Sopranos) was on board. (this was probably 7 years ago) She was with her fiance (at the time) and some friends. I felt bad for her because alot people

were starring at her. there are only a few places to escape on a cruise even if you have the owners suite. My young son at the time unintentionally splashed her in the pool. I saw her in the gym (couldn't help looking at the rock on her hand) and also at the buffet.

Two Years ago:

When I got back to our cabin I told my husband that when I was getting on the elevator returning from the pool and the doors open who walked in?............he goes PIERCE BRONSON?, he goes either it is him or he has a twin. Never saw him again on our last Freedom sailing.

Safe travels

One day I'm hoping to meet Radio or Little Miss Magic on a cruise

Wait... Little Miss Magic as in me? :D

Ironically, Radio (if you for some reason are talking about the special needs man portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr in the movie Radio) is from my hometown! I don't think he cruises, though!

We were escorted to our suite on DCl and the room steward was all in a tizzy.

She was still trying to get the rooms in perfect order. ( Disney has 2 bedroom suites that are AMAZING) .

Jim Belushi had stayed in our suite to tape some show he was on . Of course, the steward told us that John Belushi had just stayed there..took a few minutes to figure out what she was talking about. She told us that it would take her 3 hours to clean the rooms each morning, that he and his family got quite wild.

I very nicely insisted that they changed the mattress pads and bedspreads...

Because you never know.

Just off the Oasis on Saturday, Feb 25, 2012 - Our first night we ate at Chops and while we were waiting for coffee, Paula Abdul walked in and sat at the table next to us. Her security guard did not take his eye off her table (she was with 3 other people). We saw her again going into the ice show.

Gloria Estfan, was the Godmother of the Nordic Empress back in 1990.

She was up on the pool deck for sail-away and in the night clubs at night. She was on our tender going over to Coco Cay with her son and husband. Her son was about 11, ( just a guess) and hew was a typical little boy jumping in the pool even though the signs stated "no diving". She seemed to be very down to earth and not a snobby type at all. Just mingled with us regualr folks. I was very impressed with her.

Off-topic, but - There's a difference between diving and jumping. Diving is when you go in head first. The reason diving is not allowed is because when the pool isn't deep enough, people can hit their heads on the bottom and seriously injur themselves. Going in feet first isn't nearly as dangerous.

When I first started cruising in 1984, NCL had NFL players on board for their "Fit With Fun" program. I met 2 that had Super Bowl rings, but I can't remember who they were.

In 1997 we took a NASCAR cruise, and met many of the top drivers of the day, plus the television and radio announcers.
