So Who's Sailing the Splendor When She Comes to NY Town?

My husband, i and two teenage sons are going March 31st. My sister, husband and two daughters will also be traveling with us on this trip.

Wish they were different ports because we just did port canaveral, freeport and nassau last year on the pride but it is our spring break. We orginally had a different spring break week off, but the lovely state of NEW YORK change a date of some ny tests at the last minute and they had to reschedule our spring break week. So we really have no choice unless we want to pay those lovely air line prices to fly south and don't want to do that. Cann't wait to try the Splendor, but a little nervious after reading some any reviews. It seems either they love the splendor or hate it! I am hoping to be some one that loves it after cruising her in march/april. Just glad that we are getting some new choices here in NY. I would also like to see some changes and different ships is Baltimore.

My wife & I booked the Splendor one year ago, last February, for a

B2B voyage out of New York during the May 25th, 2013 sailing and

Half Moon Cay Bahamas

June 2nd, 8-day voyage

Grand Turk

Next week we are looking forward to do some double digit dancin'.. :D

Have a terrific day!

We're going on the Nov 9th sailing this year for 8 days. We were originally going to go on it in August, but had to put the money I saved up for that cruise to help pay for my mother's medical expenses. November cruises had such great prices, that it was well within my new budget for a cruise (having to start the vacation $$$ saving process again).

Port Canaveral, we plan on doing the Kennedy space center excursion. That's about as far as we got with the planning. :) Haven't checked the other ports to see whats avalailble yet.

2/21/2014 - Port Canaveral, Freeport and Nassau, 8 nights. We got a great deal on a spa balcony cabin and while I am not crazy about these Bahamas ports (have never been but the reviews stink), I love the idea of saving about $1,500 on flights/hotels in FL, being able to drive to the port will be awesome. Also we are excited about doing the Kennedy Space Center tour in Port Canaveral. I cannot wait to use the spa to my heart's content!

I really feel if Carnival wants to keep a ship year-round out of New York, that for the winter their cruises should be 9 or 10 days long. Just did the Miracle's 8 day and it was disappointing that we spent half our cruise in cold weather. They need to have the winter cruises go further south, even if it's just San Juan, Grand Turk & Nassau instead with an extra sea day.

I live on Long Island so being able to cruise out of NYC and avoid a plane trip can't be beat. You also can't beat sailing out of NYC and seeing the Statue of Liberty and sailing under the Verazzano Bridge. Awesome.

Amen to that! Love that sail down the Hudson. We were very late boarding one time and got to sail away in the dark with all the lights. It was amazing!

We are on the 3/31 for our boys' spring break. We had a crappy 2012 and need this big time. Bringing hubby and my mom too. Won't see much of her though....she'll be in the casino :p

My wife & I were in Jamaica when Sandy rolled through, then we flew home to meet her a 2nd time, fortuantely she was tame by the time she hit us. I booked the cruise to help make up for it. :)

No shows? Yikes. My family won't be happy if that is the case.

What were the shows on the regular Mexican itinerary?

Been on the Splendor last two Mays down from LA to Mexican Riviera and loved it. No major complaints really.

Was thinking taking it again from NY to Bermuda or wherever it goes in Caribbean in May but going on a different cruise.

I don't know much about the Splendor. Does it have the 2.0 upgrade yet? If not when will it be done?

What are the differences of this Ship since it is the only ship in its configuration?

Does Splendor have Guy's Burgers?
