KarinaGW Posted April 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Sailing out this very second on Enchantment's repositioning cruise. Sigh and yay. Thoughts on ship since refurb. The technology enhancements throughout from pool's big screen to cabin changes...marvelous (except my cabin's iPad is just under 3 hours off. The crew attitudes...wonderful as always. The ship herself seems a little tired....a little more rust than I'm used to seeing on her, the wood needs real sanding, not just some polishing. When they upgraded the Casino, they took away the electronic blackjack table which made me really sad but will save me money now. The concierge lounge (while having a better view) feels smaller than when it was on Deck 8. Ybe Diamond Lounge is small too...not that it matters as there are so many of us, we've taken over the whole Viking Crown. The bartenders are checking seapass cards to see whether we're diamond or plus and above to determine our drink payment status. My first impression of the distaff side of the Blair CD team is not caring for her too much...but other people seem to adore her. I will try to check in from time to time so if there are any questions, shoot.
Merion_Mom Posted April 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2013 I thought that about the CL lounge, too, but I was assured by several very certain people that the square footage is larger. :)
spookwife Posted April 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2013 really> I actually thought the CL was bigger, fitting more tables and chairs in. I agree though, the view is better although I still wish they'd make the smoke stack see through heheheheh. I am gonna miss her, although I am willing to give Grandeur a shot for our anniversary in September. dixieva Posted April 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Just off Enchantment today and agree about it looking a little tired. Our JS balcony had lots of rust all around. And although the carpet, drapes and couch are nice it just makes all of the old wood cabinets look that much older. And those new sinks in the bathroom-what a waste of money! The sink was pretty useless. Very little water pressure so it was hard to rinse anything which was just as well since the sink took forever to drain! And the placement of the faucet made it impossible to wash more than one hand at a time. I can't imagine a man getting their larger hands under that faucet. And any time you use the sink water goes everywhere, even on the floor. Kind of hard to explain why-- it just happened. The vessel sink looks nice but I wanted the old sinks back. Hope you have a great cruise down to Florida!

Scotty G Posted April 14, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Hope that you and all my friends on board have a great cruise bringing Enchantment to her new home. We are getting on the 29th :) We first met the Blairs on Song of America and then on Monarch when she sailed out of Port Everglades. I don't think they are fired up enough for the 3 & 4 night crowd ;) Marc will be there soon enough so not so bad!!!
cjdixon4 Posted April 14, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Looking eagerly forward to your reports from the Enchantment, as I'll be boarding for the Bahamas sailing on 5/10. You mentioned the CL being moved from Deck 8; I have to say, personally I'm kinda glad 'cause it made room for my cabin which is one of the Panoramic Oceanviews. Keep on sending us updates...I'll be waiting!

DonnaK Posted April 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Do you REALLY think "Reyno" is gonna remember you? Such a silly thing to say. Surprisingly, the crew often remember people from past cruises. We've had cabin stewards and waiters recognize us years later - they remember our names and other little details, such as where in the MDR we were seated last time, or some specific personal thing we might have shared in conversation (like about our pets, or our job, or our daughter's studies). So, it's not so silly after all.
cruisenfever Posted April 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Do you REALLY think "Reyno" is gonna remember you? Such a silly thing to say. Reyno remembers all those that has made an impact on him over the years and these folks are considered part of his cruising family. We've known him since he first started with RCI and yes, he does remember us as well as many others.:D
spookwife Posted April 14, 2013 #13 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Do you REALLY think "Reyno" is gonna remember you? Such a silly thing to say. well gee since the waiter we had during late seating in May remembered us as we were wandering about the ship one day in December, did( and remembered DH likes Decaf after dinner) , and the fact that when we showed up to cocktails the first night and Reyno jumped up to give me a hug, What do you think?! and this was after exactly ONE Cruise prior on the ship. six months earlier. so yeah, I have a lot of faith that he is familiar with us.
