I_AM_BAC Posted June 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Has anyone played the Cash Cube in the casino? The one where you have to get the "S" shaped piece into a space on the cube? Any luck? What are your thoughts? How much did you put into this machine trying to win (on average)?
Sue Do-Over Posted June 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Over a 5 day cruise, only 2 prizes were won (both small cash prizes). We watched groups pump in dollar after dollar, with people stationed all around to coach the player. It looked virtually impossible to win. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted June 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2013 As long as you understand, just like slot machines, that this "game" is not skill based. It is programmed to allow a win with some regularity. But not so often that it loses money for the ship! I'd never put a dollar into one. Anyislandwilldo Posted June 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2013 We have watched people play and saw a guy win $100 on the lowest level. Not sure if it's easier to win that level as opposed to the higher levels. Everyone goes for the top level right away to win the Ipad and $500. Chief Cruiser Posted June 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2013 I'm not sure I agree with the post that it is fixed as opposed to the skill of lining up the "s" in the vertical and horizontal planes. There is an extremely small tolerance and the line up has to basically be perfect. Having said that, my father taught me something many moons ago that I have found to be very, very true. To the extent that I have sat and watched literally thousands of dollars put into this sideshow, and many others, I have never seen anyone win on that particular machine. My father once told me that anything that will back up against the wall and take on the world, you really have no chance to beat. I've watched that play out to be true so many times in the 41 years since he told me that. It has kept my money in my pocket for a long time! Happy Sails! I_AM_BAC Posted June 5, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted June 5, 2013 I do not think a big prize can be won. I took a picture and have digitally measuresd and the "S" is too wide to fit into the slot for the big prize. Have not measured slots for the lesser prizes yet. I find this to be abhorrent. What say all of you?

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted June 5, 2013 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2013 I found this interesting http://www.calculatemychances.com/keymaster.php Thanks for digging that up. I recall seeing that or something similar the last time the question was asked (on what board I can't recall)! Tom

What say all of you? taking a picture and digitally measuring it would not give you an accurate reading because in pictures such as this, you can't measure depth. the object closest to the camera (S) will look bigger then what it suppose to fit into (slot). only way to get a true reading is to meare the actual objects. I don't think carnival will allow that. it is all about timing and mostly luck. Last cruise on the Dream (may 25 2013) i saw a girl win $100 playing that game. Also saw a guy win a IPAD on the Legend (May 2012). Edited June 5, 2013 by wranglerguy rewording
SuperGrace2002 Posted June 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted June 6, 2013 i was on the Ecstasy in April and a guy won the Ipad + $500 out of the machine he was down to his last $3.00 that he put in the machine. The one on this boat is a Key that you have to fit into a lock - similar to this machine you say has a "S". I think it just takes time (& lots of money). but it can be done. I lost about $50 into that machine over a 2 day period after i saw someone actually win something.

Save your money ;) .Very hard to win BUT we did try a few times and its fun if you expect to lose and/or your up really early in the morning and want to get your gamble on before the casino opens :)
Noblenobles Posted July 16, 2013 #12 Share Posted July 16, 2013 I just came back from a cruise on the Carnival Magic and I played both games cash cube and the casino vault. I won $1000 on the vault where you get the key in they slot. I had only spent $15 to win it. However I am a musician so I was trying to test a theory where I was counting to a certain tempo speeding it up and slowing it down until I hit it. Worked for me. As far as cash cube where the S fits in the slot it is possible I watched a guy win $2500 on his fourth try early one morning. The thing is that the s is actually thick and is about 4 inches or so away from the slot so it looks like it is going to go in but that's where you start to try and figure out exactly where you need to release it. It can be done you just have to figure it out it is a puzzle. The house always wins its only a matter of how.
SASA13 Posted July 16, 2013 #13 Share Posted July 16, 2013 DH played it every day on our last cruise. He spent about $5 per day. Did not win anything ( as it is pure luck IMO ), but it is fun to watch. There was always a crowd there.
firemanbobswife Posted July 16, 2013 #14 Share Posted July 16, 2013 John Heald has posted quite a few pictures of people winning the big prizes like $2500 from various ships. So I guess some people do win. I'm not coordinated enough to even try. But it would be nice!

What say all of you? I say this guy won $2,500 right before our eyeson Carnival VALOR, in late June --and I was there to document his big win! :) He scooped it all out of the bin below, someone called the Casino Manager over, he turned it all in -and they wrote him a check instead! Well done sir. This game calls for precise alignment! .

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted July 16, 2013 #19 Share Posted July 16, 2013 ...Well done sir. This game calls for precise alignment! It's similar to a slot machine... it will pay out often enough to keep people coming back, but not often enough (regardless of skill) to cause it to lose money for the casino. Jewgod66 Posted December 31, 2013 #20 Share Posted December 31, 2013 I just got back from carnival breeze my cousin showed me the game I put probably 60 bucks in throughout the whole cruise it was 8 days so pretty easy the last night I hit the 2500 FYI it's real dollar bills but not all of it's there I never saw 2500 in singles before so went to cashier and paid me in hundos and got my pic taken with hot pit boss
4merlurker Posted December 31, 2013 #21 Share Posted December 31, 2013 Great pictures.....but they are very dark. Is the ship's interior dark like that? I love/need lots of natural light and was hoping for lots of windows in the public areas.

MicksMom Posted December 31, 2013 #25 Share Posted December 31, 2013 Someone won the $2500 cash on The Triumph Friday morning. We were playing trivia when we heard all the cheering. On a side note, I had just won $400 on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine & won $645 on Black Gold slot machine a few hours later. I NEVER win!!! Had only put in a total of $40.
