LrgPizza Posted October 25, 2015 #5376 Share Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) People asked what people wanted... and that's what people are doing, asking. If no pictures are posted that is OK. If they are then great. Who is anyone to say what is good, bad, or silly. There are over 5000 posts in this topic and some are bound to ask for things more than once in error. As the first couple of cruises are preview cruises, they generally have some staterooms open to view. As well, for those who are taking and posting pictures, THANK YOU! If someone comes and knocks on my cabin door wanting to come in a take pictures for people on the internet, I'm kicking that person in the box. Maybe some here think this is okay, but it isn't. This is not a preview cruise. This is a cruise with paying passengers, so it's a little different than the media/tour events. (I'm referring specifically to the posters who want a photo of the exact cabin they have booked, so they've been listing their cabin numbers. They clearly don't realize that there are hundreds of other cabins that are identical.) Edited October 25, 2015 by LrgPizza
maywell Posted October 25, 2015 #5377 Share Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the photos, especially of the a la carte menus - it confirmed how ultra cheap the dining costs are going to be for me. :D Oh, and I'm loving the grotto. :) Edited October 25, 2015 by maywell

FreestyleNovice Posted October 25, 2015 Author #5380 Share Posted October 25, 2015 A quickie: NCL really did it this time, the extra public space, the new restaurants, etc, I can't think of anything negative at this time and I was turning to Celebrity.. Kudos NCL, too bad Escape will be one in her class in the near future. Thanks for all the compliments but this is giving back and maintaining a community about our common hobby. :D
FreestyleNovice Posted October 25, 2015 Author #5381 Share Posted October 25, 2015 @freestylenovice, could you get some pictures of the Skyline Bar? It sounds like such a great idea... having video screens that display views from famous skylines around the world, to simulate what you'd see through the windows if you were at a bar in one of those famous places. I wonder if it's as great in person as it is in concept! Also, because the Skyline Bar is located within the casino... is it horribly smokey in there? Or do they have good ventilation? The bar and screen looks great, the crowd is more onder crowd (thanks Shakers on other ships) because of the live music performances. Casino is still closed so no smoke yet. Will check it later or tommorow as it is also the suspected nightclub!

Rare insidecabin Posted October 25, 2015 #5387 Share Posted October 25, 2015 This is not a 2-day preview cruise, it's a regular 2-day revenue sailing. I'll break it down for you. Oct. 23 - Oct. 25: 2-day preview Oct. 25 - Oct. 27: 2-day revenue Oct. 27 - Oct. 28: 1-day revenue Oct. 28 - Oct. 29: 1-day preview Oct. 29 - Nov. 8: 10-day transatlantic (revenue) Nov. 9 - Nov. 11: 2-day preview (and christening) Nov. 11 - Nov. 14: 3-day revenue The preview cruises are by invitation only for media, travel partners, and special guests. They are completely free, which includes cruise fare, gratuities, and onboard drinks/food. Areas of the ship (such as the Haven) are also opened up for special tours that would generally be off-limits. The revenue cruises are just like any other sailing. You pay and stay where you belong. The 1n 28th UK preview cruise has been available to the general public for weeks though various travel agents, they even had it through a travel agent that has UK public broadcast TV channel just last week from £40pp Not everything is free, getaway they gave $50pp OBC to some guests. DGP1111 Posted October 25, 2015 #5388 Share Posted October 25, 2015 Agreed. Having a wide choice of beers is fantastic and one of the (many) things I'm really looking forward to. With the UBP, I can try as many as I want without having to really think about "Oh man, I just spent $10 on a pint and I don't even like it". Ditto that sentiment. . YES....that's one of my favorite things about having the UBP!!! The ability to try some new things - without feeling bad if I don't like them. bdonovan17 Posted October 25, 2015 #5390 Share Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) Looking at the menus, I don't see anything that's over the UBP limit. I enjoy my beer, and can't wait to board the Escape to spend a week tasting beer!!!! I hope we are right in thinking all these beers are apart of UBP! I don't think I'm going to leave that place the entire cruise! At least my family will know where to find me!!! Spaniel Lover Posted October 25, 2015 #5391 Share Posted October 25, 2015 One of the things I really like about seeing each new cruise ship that comes out is to notice how the cruise line makes little tweaks to improve upon the previous generation of ship. For example, here's a very small little tweak I'm noticing on the Norwegian Escape versus the Norwegian Getaway. Take a look at this picture I snapped in the Garden Café (buffet restaurant) on the Norwegian Getaway, and notice the style of the chairs and tables: Now look at this photo that @freestylenovice snapped on the Norwegian Escape, and notice how much more comfortable and classy the chairs and tables in the Garden Café look: I say "bravo" to NCL for making the Garden Café look a little nicer this time around! CruisinHarvey Posted October 25, 2015 #5392 Share Posted October 25, 2015 Food Republic menu O'Sheehans menu My wife is so disappointed. We both love the chicken pot pie. I don't see it anymore. She can't bring herself to eat the shepherds pie after we saw Sweeney Todd.

Spaniel Lover Posted October 25, 2015 #5394 Share Posted October 25, 2015 Many thanks to @freestylenovice who snapped two pictures in the Skyline Bar, at my request: In the text accompanying the photos on Instagram, he noted: "Looks great, moving/living images on the screens!" That's REALLY helpful to know, to help imagine the effect, knowing now that the images on the screens are not still photos... they are videos! I can't wait to see it in person. [g]cruiserke Posted October 25, 2015 #5396 Share Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) Many thanks to @freestylenovice who snapped two pictures in the Skyline Bar, at my request: When I saw the picture of the video poker machines at the bar I wondered if they would comp your drinks when you're playing like they do in Vegas, but then I remembered we got the UBP so all drinks will be free :D I love the whole vibe of this bar with the screens, makes it seem very roomy and open. I think what bdonovan was referring to was not the limit - but rather TDBH being excluded from the plan. Similar to some restaurants that are excluded from the UDP. [g]cruiserke Posted October 25, 2015 #5399 Share Posted October 25, 2015 I hope everybody has a great time on their cruise, if they are cruising for the sole purpose of different beers have fun with your beer, if you're cruising because you're a foodie have fun with your food. I on the other hand Cruise for the total package. Great food, great alcohol, amazing shows, swimming, relaxing in a hot tub and the overall experience. Its all good when you cruise like a Norwegian. Don't think anybody will be able to disagree with you there :)
Golfin55 Posted October 25, 2015 #5400 Share Posted October 25, 2015 Yes, from someone whose idea of a gourmet meal is a hamburger, I'm sure. No doubt his taste in beer is equally as sophisticated. Hey, whats wrong with White Castle and a Schlitz? Or is it White Castle gives you the Schlitz:eek:
