#9 and #10 are the two handicap accessible cabanas on Nellie's Beach. We had #10 when we were there and loved it too. We did not book it for the accessible feature. It was the last cabana left when we arrived at the check in area. We just walked down the ramp and we were about three feet from the water's edge. Some of the other cabanas use stairs and ladders to enter the water. I liked being able to walk into the water instead of stepping into water that was waist deep.

This is for you Bugsy since you seem to have massive knowledge of this. Unfortunately Celebrity (although a company owned by RCCL) stops at Labadee, they do not provide the opportunity to book cabanas online as they are not offered in their shore excursions. That means a dash to the excursion desk when boarding and probably being met by long lines and "sorry, none available). But should we luck out, I would like to know a few things. Just what do we get for our $250. I know it is private and gated off from the other areas and you get a wooden structure that can accommodate six persons (unfortunately, we are eight in number). I have also read about someone who looks after you - a man named old Pops was mentioned a bit, six towels and bottled water. I remember reading somewhere about a fancier buffet with grilled shrimp, etc or am I hallucinating? Just wondered what my $250 buys.

Included:

•Private ocean view cabana rental for the full day

•Furnished with 2 luxurious resort-style lounge chairs & a sofa

•Four bottles of water (in a cooler)

•Floating beach mats and snorkeling gear.

•Towels for your use during the day

•Barefoot Beach cabanas have a private beach only for cabana rental guests

I understand that only the Barefoot Beach cabanas (available to suites only) get the upgraded buffet. Used to be that the Nellie Beach cabanas got escorted to the upgraded buffet, but that was discontinued.

Actually it sounds like they brought the upgraded buffet back - it's now listed under "highlights" for cabanas again.

That's pretty much in a nutshell what the 250 gets you. Also remember the cabana comes with chairs and a long sofa. I'm disappointed that they've gone to this mad dash to the shore excursions now for cabanas. I was able to book one online for the Quantum cruise I have in April but that was a while back.

And yes you get the upgraded buffet with shrimp, steak, and a few items not offered on the regular buffet.

They are very strict on the 6 people per cabana. Unless that has changed and they are a little more lenient but I doubt it

Thanks for the helpful info. One more question - is the beach for the Nellie cabanas just for those cabanas or is it open to whoever wants to use it. I know the Barefoot Beach is private.

Nellie's Beach is open to everyone. On Allure two weeks ago, it was busy, but not jam-packed. Plenty of loungers still remaining when we left at about 1:30. We had a beach cabana that is set back from the water.

Thanks for answer to my question. Unfortunatley the Reflection will be in port with us with 3450 passengers so Labadee will be a zoo and the cabanas fought over by two ships, not one. We have decided to pass as it is going to be more trouble than it is worth trying to simply book one onboard. We will wing it. If too bad we will return to ship and hang out there with having it practically to ourselves. Maybe hit the spa.

Thanks again, Barb

Don't assume Labadee will be a zoo. Allure had over 6000 passengers, and with two smaller Celebrity ships in port, it should be a similar number. Your plan is a good one -- go in and see if you like the conditions. You might be surprised. :) One suggestion -- don't wait until the last minute to reboard the ship, as the security lines got fairly long at the end of the day.

We will be on Explorer soon, sharing Labadee with Grandeur, so I think the numbers will be similar. I was able to get a cabana. Good luck. :)

We were on Labadee twice on the Allure and yea it was a little crowded at times, we had no issues walking around, visiting the vendors and still fell in love with the place again.

It was a longer than usual line (compared to when we sailed Mariner or Freedom) to get thru security to get back on board, but it moved fast.

Enjoy the day there.

We did

Safe travels.

I have been hearing a lot about Nellies beach, but do not see it on the map on the first post. Can someone please tell me where it is? Also can you bring your own noodle, inflatable mat... to Labadee? thanks

It's not specifically labeled on that map. Look to the cove just to the right of Barefoot Beach, and that is Nellie's Beach. There is a black graphic of a swimmer in the cove.

As far as I know, you can take your own noodle or mat to Labadee. I've never seen any printed restriction against it.

Sailing LOTS in June. When I look at the excursions, a cabana is not an option. Does this mean that you must wait until you board the ship to book? Or is it too early and it will show up under excursions for labadee in a few weeks?

Thanks!

Jackie:)

From what is being said on here now it looks like they have taken away the option of booking them in advance on line and you have to see about booking once on board. Although in your case they may already be sold out. Cabanas do sell fast so they may have before this change was made

I found the email from RCI that I received regarding booking cabanas. According to the email, you must now book cabanas onboard, either through the Concierge, if you have access to one, or from Shore Excursions/Guest Services. While it is still possible that cabanas may be sold out on your cruise, perhaps because of the prior ability to book them online, I would still ask as soon as you board. Good luck :)

That's a bummer. Was looking to book one online for the five of us on our Allure cruise in November.

Would love an interpretation from someone who has been able to book a cabana in the past. I am currently booked on a cruise in Dec of 15 (I know, way too far out, but I've wanted to cruise the Oasis since it was built and prices finally came into my budget). When I go to the shore excursion planner it only shows 2 items for Labadee, none of which are the cabanas. Is it too far out still? That's fine, just want an idea if a. you can't book them online anymore, b. they aren't open for booking yet, or c. they are all sold out.

Thanks!

everyoen is saying you cant book them online anymore. but its weird that you can only see 2 things. i can see like 8 different excursions for my may 2016 allure

December, 2015, is too far out to show very many, if any, shore excursions. Keep checking back, I've heard varying timelines for availability. While watching for Labadee excursions on our upcoming January cruise, they appeared gradually. At first there were just two, and then slowly more were posted.

"Barefoot Beach cabanas have a private beach only for cabana rental guests"

It does?? I was there in April 2014 and didn't see a separate beach for "cabana only" on Barefoot. Some of the cabanas had waterfront access, but I didn't see that any had their own beach.

Towels are available for anyone, regardless of whether or not they've reserved a cabana. We were able to use as many as we wanted - and for those concerned about shade, Barefoot has plenty of shaded areas under the palm trees :)
