delgados129 Posted November 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2014 The B.B. King's Blues Band performances during the Eurodam's first Carribbean sailing was some of the best entertaintment you will find on or off a cruise ship. Several nights were standing room only in the Queens Lounge. Old and new school funk, R&B, soul, gospel...they were a dynamo and the entertainment hub of the ship. If you were to be blind folded, put on th ship and brought to the perfomance, you would swear you were on a Carnival ship with all the dancing going on. The musicians were excellent perfomers and entertainers...15 on a scale of 1 to 10. Besides the itinerary, having this band on my next cruise will be a top consideration. Cruising-along Posted November 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2014 We spent many nights in the Queen's Lounge on our Eurodam Baltics cruise in August. Love, love their performance! Also very friendly when I saw them around the ship.

lka1012 Posted November 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2014 I hope they will be on a cruise I am on sometime in the future. Of course, living in Memphis and going to the one on Beale Street, I may be kinda picky.

See: http://www.hollandamerica.com/pageByName/Simple.action?requestPage=bbkings_bluesclub While the itinerary is the top consideration for myself, I do like either a good show and band before I retire for the next day of excursions. The Hal Cats were okay on the Zuiderdam a few years ago but I've lived in Memphis and have been to BB King's original club on Beale Street - if it's anything close to the real thing, I'll be pleased. I'm on the Westerdam in a few weeks and will report back on that ship's BB King band.
dvcmember Posted November 10, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 10, 2014 I was on the 10-26 sailing too. The B.B. King's were AWESOME! My hands were raw after clapping so much during the shows. Definitely a fine display of musicianship.
Wakepatrol Posted November 10, 2014 #11 Share Posted November 10, 2014 I couldn't agree with you more. We had them on the Noordam last Christmas and New Years. The New Years show was off the chain. I really wanted to book another ship that had them for Christmas and New Years but didn't want to go on a b2b cruise . So we're Amsterdam bound for Xmas and New Years
Rare PatriciaF Posted November 10, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 10, 2014 We really enjoyed going to BB King's on our Baltic cruise this summer. Great music!
markarmel Posted November 10, 2014 #13 Share Posted November 10, 2014 We were on Nieuw Amsterdam for 24 nights back in June-July and the blues band at BB KINGS was just amazing. They also did a show in the main showroom and blew everybody away. They were one of the best shows we have seen on any of our cruises.
bunny100 Posted November 10, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 10, 2014 The schedule has the start date for them on the Zuiderdam but not the end date. I will be on her January 2nd so will they still be on the Zuiderdam January 2nd?
mollyanne Posted November 10, 2014 #15 Share Posted November 10, 2014 We absolutely loved them last year on the Westerdam and look forward to seeing them again in the future. HAL knew what they were doing when they signed this entertainment. Sent from my GT-P3113 using Forums mobile app
djhsolara Posted November 11, 2014 #16 Share Posted November 11, 2014 I can't seem to get to the schedule for Eurodam. Are they a permanent fixture there? We'll be on in January...will they be there? We experienced them a few years ago and loved them...and the excitement that they brought to the Queens Lounge in the evening...people stayed awake and out and seemed to have a great time. ComputerTravelGuy Posted December 7, 2014 #20 Share Posted December 7, 2014 BB King band just rocked the Westerdam - I booked in part to hear this band. They exceeded my expectations (and I lived in Memphis for many years - as good as any band you'll hear on Beale Street). Awesome week of Blues! Krazy Kruizers Posted December 7, 2014 #21 Share Posted December 7, 2014 There was a BB King band on our Noordam cruise. We walked by one evening. Way too loud for our ears.

jaguarstyper Posted December 7, 2014 #24 Share Posted December 7, 2014 The BB King band has me looking forward to our cruise next week more than I normally look forward to a cruise. I've been complaining for years about HAL's mediocre entertainment offerings and I'm so glad to hear they finally have something that really seems worthwhile. Maybe they will be able to keep me out of the casino everything night. :D Cant wait!
