I guess I will just have to type mine out. Turns out I was wrong above. The March 2017 sailing is showing the price with 18% included so it is actually cheaper per day.

Aug 28 2016 - Liberty of the Seas

Select: $51.87 + 18% = $60.77 x 7 = $428.45

Premium: $65.17 + 18% = $76.90 x 7 = $538.30

Ultimate: $78.47 + 18% = $92.59 x 7 = $648.16

Mar 4 2017 - Freedom of the Seas

Select: $55.86 x 8 = $446.88

Premium: $75.81 x 8 = $606.48

Ultimate: $89.11 x 8 = $712.88

I purchased the premium drink package for my May 2017 sailing , but the 20% off was only offered on the premium package

That price on that screen shot is actually less than what it was 2 weeks ago

 Strange that I am getting a message saying -

"Please try again onboard ship. Uh oh.. it looks like you're trying to reserve a package too far ahead or too close to your sail date. If you have several weeks to go try reserving closer to your sail date. etc."

Wonder why you can access May 2017 but I can't access April 2017?? Oh yeh.. we shouldn't expect RCI to be consistent right!!

I checked and OBC exchange rate today is still 1.50 Ouch!

March 18th - $1.35 was bank rate. Maybe the rates for RCI only change - quarterly? Couldn't possible do a daily exchange . Actually banks change every 7 minutes I was told.

retired bank employee here....banks change real time. if the us exchange moves on the markets so does the bank rate. that means, in theory, you can have a different rate every ten seconds.

While us Canadian cruisers would just like to see Royal move in a favorable direction occasionally. I admit I took full advantage of the year of 1.10 now I would be happy to see 1.3 or 1.2 for an extended time. Royal will still get my money, but I like to feel like I'm 'winning "

First time cruising. Just received my documents for an upcoming cruise ( 45 days ). Is there any reason to not check-in now?

We're departing from Venice.

It seems odd to me checking in 45 days in advance... but I guess that's normal?

Yes this is quite normal.

Congrats on your first cruise! I wish I could go back and experience that first cruise feeling again - such a good feeling. Enjoy every moment.!

Question for the Nexus folks. How long was the application process? I see that the fees have come off of my Mastercard but have not heard back as yet. Is there some place you can go and check on your application?

I hate waiting......

I applied a few years ago and I'm sure that processing times can vary, so I don't know how quickly they do things as of late. For me it was a few weeks to receive conditional approval, I think. You need to be vetted by CBSA as well as CBP/DHS.

I applied online through GOES, so I was able to check my application status that way:

https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov

I received an e-mail notification when I received conditional approval. There was a letter I had to print out from GOES and then I scheduled my interview at an enrolment centre. Finding a convenient interview time slot back when I applied was tricky. Available appointment times that I preferred back then were generally weeks away, except that cancellations/changes by other applicants happen all the time, so if you keep checking/refreshing, you'll find that time slots open up pretty frequently.

Sounds exactly like my situation. :( We applied last month (February 22nd) and the fees were off our Mastercard the next week but to date, we have heard nothing. I snail mailed our application since it was cheaper that way. I know if you applied online, you can check it online.

From the Nexus website, it says we should expect it to take 4 to 6 weeks for the conditional approval. Yep--patience is not one of my stronger points either! ;)

We applied at the end of last year by mail so we could pay in CDN. After 10 weeks and not hearing anything I called and was told that we were approved 4 weeks earlier but they were having trouble with their mail notification system. They gave me the info I needed over the phone to set up our account on line and schedule our appointments.

Once we did that we had our interviews scheduled within 1 week (drove to Lansdown to get a quick appointment) and our cards arrived exactly 7 days after that.

When we went for our appointment the agents were not happy we did not have the letter. The letter also told you that you would need to remove contacts for the Iris scan. The agents were also not happy about the mail process as they have to enter a few additional pieces of information that is already done if you apply on line. One was a list of every country that you have visited in the last 5 years....amazing how cruising causes that list to be quite extensive.

We have travelled twice now since we received our cards and have been very pleased.

Edit..Our conditional approval letters arrived the day before we received our Nexus cards in the mail.

Welcome back, Ken! Hope you had a fantastic cruise. :)

Thanks for the Nexus info.... especially about the countries you've visited in the last five years! You're so right about cruising creating an extensive list. I will definitely have this prepared and ready to hand over if we ever get Nexus notification and an interview. ;)

Thanks. Loved the Allure, now counting the days until January when we sail her again.

I would call at 6 weeks to check the status and weekly after that. I think the only reason that I ever received the letters was because I called. Having the list ready is a great plan. There we were, the four of us, going through cruise by cruise for the past 5 years trying to remember ports of call. I think that we may have missed one.

After Ken mentioned about the countries visited, I went online to check the form on the website and it just asks for the countries... not dates. No way could I give dates either. ;)

Good to know. When you say you checked the form, what form is that? When I go to the link given its just a Welcome website.

It's on the GOES website (Global Online Enrollment System). It's the site you use if you want to submit the form online.. It's $50 U.S. doing it that way but $50 Canadian if you complete a Nexus application form and snail mail it.

Have recently renewed my NEXUS card - 2nd five year period - would NOT travel without it - saved me lots of time where I would have been standing in line with 200 other people and whisked me to the front of the line (if looks could kill LOL). Well worth it - even in US dollars!!!:rolleyes:

My husband is a nut job. They refreshed the Royal Caribbean rewards on MyVegas today and they had a free cruise on the Oasis of the Seas in a D1 for the April 9th sailing. He booked it with his points and just had to pay taxes and gratuities. The total spent was $418.12 USD. It also includes unlimited drinks for him in the Casino. It is booked in USD so everything in the cruise planner is in USD which is a little weird for me. There are no promos in the cruise planner beyond the internet discount (buy one get one free). It ends up being $15USD per day for the 2 device plan. I can't believe we are leaving in 2 weeks. My mom things I am nuts lol

Very nice. I am decades away from getting enough points. Currently only at 8000.

We have cashed ours in several times. So far with RCL we have gotten a few $300 OBCs, an ultimate drink package, and this cruise (the OBC and drinks are not options anymore). Then in Vegas we have had plenty of meals etc.

If you are using it, make sure to play on Facebook and the three apps to maximize your points. We do not play alot. We just sign in everyday, make our free daily spin and then play a few times a week while we watch TV.
