Tender question...both suite and non suites in group

Hello. We are on Vision and planned a private tour with others on cc. We are in a suite, others are not.

There is one stop where we are not in a group tour and we tender...So, First, how does the suite priority tender work....do we get tickets from concierge, just show our gold card? Do we have to rudely cut in the tender line?

Next, what is the best way for all of us in different category cabins to get the same tender or at least one that is close together so we can meet onshore for the private tour. Thanks!

Tender priority tickets (or the use of your gold card) will depend on you're particular port and will be explained onboard by your concierge.

In the past when we have had them I still opted to wait my turn in line ;)

If your tour is in Tortola - that will be canceled. (we just did the Jewel) Other than that your tour is in Grand Cayman - your Concierge will escort you to the tender ( I would suggest a tip) :)

When we are staying in a suite, but travelling with people who aren't, we just join them to disembark in the normal way.

You will probably be given tickets, but if you use them your friends will not be allowed to leave with you as they aren't in a suite. I would just get up very early and join them in the line. The ship normally also give priority to guests on ship's tours so you may have a little bit of a wait.

You don't have to tip him right there. I would wait until the end and tip for the week.

Hello. Checking this topic again for tendering in Cannes on the Vision.... Any idea how tendering is done on the Vision (tickets or show card). My husband and I are in a suite, but 4 other cruisers on our private tour in Cannes are not....rather than get separated, what is the best, fastest way to tender together?

I read a review which said tendering took 3 hours! I surely don't want to miss 3 hours of our private tour! Thanks!

Do you really need to be 1st off? If not, then it's not a problem...even if you can't get on the 1st tender, the 2nd one will be about 15 mins. after the first...not a big deal!

We don't need to be first off. I don't think I said that. I was just trying to keep our group together... and, as I noted, I was concerned when a fellow cc member reviewed this very ship and cruise, noting that it took 3 hours to get on a tender.

I don't know if that reviewer was exaggerating, so I wanted other people's thoughts, perhaps who have been on Vision or in Cannes. I have done a lot of cruises and have tendered, so I know the drill. But there seem to be a number of complaints about the Vision in Europe, so I was thought other cc members might give insight. Didn't know I would get snarky comments though.... Just trying to get info. Thanks!

Not being snarky but when we travel with our adult children who are not in a suite and we are, we just line up with them if we need to stay together. Otherwise, we plan where to meet. I think for two people to expect to take four others in a priority line is a bit much and unfair to others.

That's a good point.... Very valid.... Just don't want to wait hours for others to get on a tender, as the one reviewer reported. Hopefully that was an exaggeration.

If you can, wait until you are onboard and can speak directly with the concierge. They may allow you to bring your friends along for the priority tendering, or not. Explain your time constraints. The stars may align for you and all may go your way-or not. Good luck.

We had a private tour at a tender port that I was the organizer for. I asked the Concierge nicely if there was any way to get tender tickets together for my group. They were wonderful and got them for us.

It never hurts to ask. It was the Diamond Concierge that came through for us. I didn't want to ask the Suites Concierge (we were in a GS).

When travelling with friends who do not have the same privileges as I do, I revert to their options. That way, I am not making them feel that they are inconveniencing me and since they are friends, I want all of us to have the same experience. The 3 hour comment seems far fetched to me. But if you must, you could leave on first tender and let them catch up with you three hours later.

We showed our tickets for our private tour in Cannes and they let us tender off with the ship arranged tours. I had lined up for tender tickets and we had No. 1 but they were taking off all the ship arranged tours first. That was on Serenade of the Seas

That was a snarky one, a good lawyer would have known. ;)

That was a funny joke though.

Your joke was actually offensive, narrow-minded and stereotypes a whole group of people. And this post is another jab at me and attorneys, thereby proving the point I made in my initial comment to you. Perhaps attorneys are an easy target. However, I find that a person who is confrontational for no reason or mocks others is generally insecure about their own abilities, intelligence and/or self-worth.

Thanks to all those who sincerely responded. Apologies for the digression in the thread.

Of course you are aware I didn't apologize to you, nor do I owe you an apology. I know from coming across your posts throughout the forums, your goal seems to be to entice others into arguments and antagonize members. I also know you are editing your posts in this thread to try to add additional rude comments as you think of them. I would have thought you would just let this rest, as it seems childish to mock a person you do not know.

In any event, CC is for valid, non-harassing discussions and frankly, your multiple comments and "jokes" are against CC rules and decorum. Please be an adult and just let members answer the question posed. Thank you.

Sorry I misunderstood your apology. This is where the thread digressed.

Out of curiosity, do you ever say something nice to folks on the boards? It seems like every board I read you seem to want to argue or make snarky comments.... Such as knocking my profession (yes, I saw that post on another thread directed at me). I appreciate a sense of humor, but it might be nice to post some helpful, agreeable comments too. Just food for thought...

I think you are stalking me, obviously you are unhappy with a post I made some time ago and still can't seem to let go. A vacation should do you good

Linda, sorry i could not find the post from earlier where i disparaged lawyers. i'm sure i did, just can't recall details. BTW, I did run across a thread we both posted on. It was about Chef's Table. 25 posts, I did 4 of them and you did two. All of my posts were cheerful and useful. I even posted the menu. I guess you forgot about that series. Anyway, have a great weekend, looks like you have some rough weather off the coast

We had over 3hrs tendering off Serenade last year. It was a lovely day but there was too much swell and it was causing lots of problems. They kept making announcements re delays as they had to keep stopping until it was safe.

We were in a suite for the 1st time on our last cruise. [serenade] So, I can only tell you about this experience.

The concierge was very helpful and I would suspect he would have accommodated your group--dependent on its size. I think it would make a difference if you had another couple in a group or if you had a group of 10-12+ people.

FYI--the procedure for us was as follows. The day before the tender port [Grand Cayman] the Concierge asked us when we wanted to leave the ship. We told him a time. He met us in the CL at that time and we went down the elevator [he used a key card to make the elevator a direct trip] When we got off the elevator we got in the back of the group that was getting on a tender. Those waiting for the next tender were waiting at the top of the stairs on deck 2 and would not be called down to deck 1 until the current tender left and an empty tender arrived.

So, we did get on a tender before others in the line. But, they never saw us and we did not "rudely cut" in front of them. Since this is a suite benefit I did not feel guilty doing this.
