I really would have preferred some Caribbean music on our last cruise on the Victory. In my opinion even if you don't want to hire a band at least play the music.

Love it. I miss the steel bands at the pool area, DJ's are good for Club and some late night Party's by the pool but nothing compares with the steel bands playing while your sailing away from ports.

Step in the right direction. Sounds like they're just looking for solo's. Would really like to see proper 3,4 5 piece bands back onboard, at least on Caribbean cruises.

Steel Drum and Reggae would be a welcomed change, especially when sailing from Galveston. The Country music is fine for a bit, but is a little much for the whole Carribean Cruise.

This would be so awesome! My best friend has been cruising with me for several years now, and has not had this experience. I would love for her to have that in October when we go to the Caribbean! There is something almost magical about that! :p

This is great news. I love listening to the steel bands and reggae music. I do miss that from the 80's and 90's. It made you feel like you were on a cruise and in the Caribbean. (Although it does say it's a "Island" job? I wonder if it's really going to be for the ships or for maybe their private island? :confused:

I agree 100%!!

Not a fan of the still drums or any other band by the pool. All the songs sound the same and most can't sing. On my last RCCL most people were not impressed with the live bands. I enjoy the live bands in the clubs and the ocean plaza but that's about it.

Those are some requirements! I hope they are compensated well! Looks like instead of a band they are looking for an individuals to possibly lead different music activities.
