maryjaden Posted July 22, 2015 #1 Posted July 22, 2015 Just saw posted on Facebook that the Freedom was on fire. It is at dock in Falmouth, Jamaica. Anybody hear if this is true?
Lynmae75 Posted July 22, 2015 #4 Posted July 22, 2015 I'm on the Freedom now. There was a fire in one of the engines. We reported to our stations. It's out now. They've sent us to different venues, theater, studio b, etc. Since we can't go back to our stateroom just yet.

sky0000547 Posted July 22, 2015 #8 Posted July 22, 2015 There is a photo on Twitter with black smoke coming out of the pool deck aft.
cruiserdudebobby8 Posted July 22, 2015 #9 Posted July 22, 2015 There is a photo on Twitter with black smoke coming out of the pool deck aft. can it be the smokestacks?
Rare BillOh Posted July 22, 2015 #11 Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) Also glad to hear what appears to be somewhat good news. At this time of day most passengers are probably off the ship. What a site that must have been from the port. I imagine not a lot were trying to reboard this early. I never thought of reporting to Muster stations while in port. On one hand the lifeboats on one side are worthless, but you have to have an organizing point I guess. Will be interesting to follow. Edited July 22, 2015 by BillOh
rubrrick Posted July 22, 2015 #12 Posted July 22, 2015 I'm also glad that everyone is safe. It will be interesting to hear how it started. Rick

pgold128 Posted July 22, 2015 #14 Posted July 22, 2015 There is a photo on Twitter with black smoke coming out of the pool deck aft. That smoke could be from a smoke evac system. Removing the smoke from the engine room???....

Lynmae75 Posted July 22, 2015 #16 Posted July 22, 2015 Everybody was on the ship since we hadn't docked in Falmouth. We were suppose to arrive at 10 a.m. The fire started after 9 a.m. It started in the engine room & I've heard smoked filled the Crown & Viking Lounge. We are still in the theater.
MisterMom Posted July 22, 2015 #17 Posted July 22, 2015 Thanks for the updates. Glad pax are okay and hoping no crew are injured. Please keep us updated.
