Chef David selected a passenger to assist in addition to chef grant.

A nice lunch on deck.

This afternoon a lecture on NATO.

Dinner tonight in STARS.

Formal evening and Venetian cocktails and acknowledgements.

Ocean is 16000 feet deep, temperature 22 C, weather partly cloudy.

Appreciate the added details and updates from Candy. Below are today's pictures. The technology and picture uploading has been . . . MAGIC . . . solved. Like the better, larger results? Keep 'em coming!

That's deep water!! Don't drop anything overboard. That's three miles down to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean at that location.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Here are the latest pictures today from the Silver Spirit. And, they are much larger and improved, at no extra cost!! Such a deal!! First is the wine from Portugal. This allowed a morning cooking demo pairing with this Portuguese vino Verde. Then, a plate of tapas, Spanish omelette and croquet as de jam.:

From our Silver Cloud cruise earlier this year, here is one of my pictures of Chef Grant Chilcott. He is originally from Australia and was the Executive Chef for our 26-days on this Amazon River-Caribbean cruise. He really did a great job and we were very happy with the food quality during our days on the Silver Cloud. Any others have had experiences with Chef Grant? He has been with Silversea nearly three years and had been previously an Executive Chef with Regent and Paul Gauguin cruises:

Another spectacular sunrise.

The air is fresh, balmy and pure.

The verandah calls my name to just sit and watch the ocean, wave after wave, washing in the other.

I dare not say how calm it is, for fear of jinxing it, but the water is accommodating our speed without any rebellion thus far.

It's early onboard, and the Internet is faster. Must be that most are sleeping in. We were granted another hour to sleep, it's a luxury to keep getting another hour!

DH attended the lecture yesterday on NATO, and enjoyed.

We did not go to the Venetian cocktail soirée, instead had tapas en suite and later dinner at STARS. Enjoyed a 2012 Merry Edward Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc with dinner. The wine was yummy.

Back to the suite and then sleep. Blissful, tranquil, being rocked just so slightly in the cradle of our bed.

And now, the day begins with a gorgeous sunrise, breakfast soon to arrive en suite, and who knows what will follow...

To follow-up the morning posting from Candy, below are six pictures to reflect life while on the Silver Spirit. Look nice? Seas are calm! Keep 'em coming!

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Dozens of nice visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc. We are now at 206,625 views for this live/blog re-cap, including much on wonderful Barcelona. Check these postings and added info at:

Here is a little sea "action" from Candy while on the Silver Spirit. First, sunrise on the Atlantic. Second, an example of the calm, flat sea. Third, some wave action and a sea creature is seen as they are looking for wildlife.:

Point of clarification....The Dolphins were what we were looking for, but not seen on this trip...At least not yet!

BUT, there is a fish of some sort showing in this one picture, right? But, not a dolphin? Appreciate the follow-up and added info. What's on the schedule for today? Any good, interesting speakers?

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean combo sailing over 26 days that started in Barbados, here is the link below to that live/blog. Here is a visual just sent by Candy titled: "The verandah calls".

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Very nice...

It would be calling louder, were there an ice bucket and a nice bottle of Champagne there, but I hear the call nonetheless!

Appreciate the great above point from JP. Check with with your Butler to see if they have any of this fine Champagne from Reims, France, available on your Silversea ship. We'll drink to this excellent suggestion of a Champagne from Heidsieck & Co that was founded in 1785.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Two bottles of champagne yet to be chilled in our suite.

Bottle of Dom and one of Laurent Perrier cuvée rose.

Too much to drink for just the two of us...

Some squalls this afternoon.

A little brief rain.

Sun has returned, but lazy day.

We are 2402 nautical miles from ft Lauderdale.

Sea is 3005 meters deep.

According to the captain we are 8 to 10 hours ahead of schedule.

Pub lunch today, the fish and chips, mushy peas and steak and ale pie, etc, buffet.

Singalong as well, all taking place in Panorama. From the turn out it seemed many enjoyed the food, some passengers more enthusiastic singers than others.

It's your "duty" to drink that fine Champagne!! Yes, this task involves hard work, but you must complete your challenges. On having a "Pub Lunch", that sounds wonderful. We had one of those coming back to Barbados on the Silver Cloud. Below is a visual example/sample. Loved the steak and ales pie. Mushy peas are not as much my "thing".

For those who have not seen mushy peas, below is one of my visual samplers, plus other items to sample during such a Pub Lunch. Hope you enjoyed these tasty treats!! You can see Chef Grant in the background of this picture.:

Talking of champagne, did you know that you can request Pommery if Monopole is not to your taste? We always keep it in the cabin and I request it in the bar and they always oblige.

Yes, Pommery Champagne can be excellent, too! We visited the Pommery location in Reims, France, went down in their cellars, taste tested the product, etc. Nice!!

Here below are some various sea shots from Candy. I did a little "fine-tuning" to prime up these visuals. Seas look fairly calm, but with a variety of sky, cloud and sun angles/views. More to come!!

SORRY!! Something is not working correctly with Photobucket. Am trying to find out why it is not working correctly on their end.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Super loved Dubrovnik!!! See more details and lots of great visual samples/examples at this link. Have had over 30,337 views on this posting and appreciate those who have tuned-in and dropped by.

Lots of squalls yesterday afternoon, rain and seas a little rough.

Today cloudy and still a little rough. The outdoor cushions have been removed from our verandah and placed inside. What does that portend for this day? Wind whistling outside. The ship jostled by the waves, some hitting us broadside.

Water from the pool sloshing over the sides, they took it down a notch by draining it slightly.

Lots of events listed in the chronicles to keep anyone busy, or not busy.

We were up early for espresso and then sauntered down to breakfast.

Dinner last night in La Terrazza. Grand company, good conversation. We closed the place.

I have been told food in MDR is terrific and impressive.

We continue to relax and put our feet up. DH does run around the "joggers area" each day but yesterday due to the rain.

Carpe diem

We have been impressed with the food in the MDR on this voyage. The service seems much smoother than on past voyages.

Last evening, we attended the CD Moss Hills' show and thought it was superb -- the best we have ever seen on Silversea. He is a multitalented person and a charming entertainer.

Tonight we will try Seshin for the first time.

The weather continues to be overcast with a slight motion to the ship. Most people seem to be indoors even though it is quite balmy outside.

Each piece of "art" that is deemed worth saving has a mini life vest...

😂

Ok that is a giant fib, there aren't any mini life vests.

Enjoying this cruise and lots of solitude.

Picking and choosing activities.

Lunch and learn had no extra charge.

I understand some of wine tasting lectures have additional charge.

At noon today Captain says he is slowing down and to expect a rough night. Sick bags already on hand rails.

We will hope for the "best" as the Silver Spirit goes through these choppy waters. Good luck!!

BUT, no need for pictures of the sick bags, etc. We'll be able to get an image for what might have and/or hopefully did not happened.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
