Carnival Excursion bundle discount

I'm hoping those of you more familiar with Carnival and its website can help me figure this one out:

When I booked my first cruise, Carnival's website had a pop up tell me that if I booked all of my excursions right now, I'd receive a discount. At that point I hadn't researched them at all, so I turned the offer down.

For the cruise I just booked, I researched in advance just in case I received the same offer, and lo and behold it came up again. The 20% discount is pretty significant considering how much everyone will fight and call just to get small reductions in cruise fare.

However, I've never seen anyone mention this on this site. Did I just get lucky to receive this offer twice? Or is this one of those things that everyone already knows when booking and I'm just behind?

I've not seen that pop up so I guess it doesn't happen all the time.

Interesting. This makes me even more curious. The discount was 20% which means we saved $100 on excursions for our upcoming trip. Not enormous, but not chump change either.

Wonder if anyone knows the strategy neccisary to get this offer to come up? Or is it random? For as much as some of us fight for 20 and 30 dollar price drops, I'm honestly surprised to not see more about this one. Maybe most of you are saving even more by booking private tours?

I hope I'm not harping on a silly point, but I'm most comfortable with the ship excursions as this point in my cruising career, and figuring out how to get that discount as often as possible would be fantastic!

I've seen the offer come up but only when I first book a cruise - usually it's for 3 excursions at 3 different ports.

Each port can be scrolled through to see what excursions are being offered. One is not limited to the 3 tours shown on the first panel.

I wasn't prepared at that time to make a selection, nor did I have the time to price compare to standard rates.

I got the offer when I booked my last cruise (under the past guest rate). It was only good for two days. What rate did you book under? I wonder if it is tied to the rate type you book under.

Well the first time I got the offer I think it was as Early Saver, my most recent booking was this "no snow" promotional rate. Neither time did it give me 2 days though, it was book now or loose the offer.

I had never seen it till I booked my April cruise. I sure took advantage of it though.I think it said you had 24 hours to book excursions. It didn't come up for my Dec cruise or Feb cruise.

I just saw it for the first time about a month ago booking a cruise. I put a hold online, called my PVP to pay. She told me I needed to buy FTTF online so when I went to the excursions page it popped up. The excursions offered I didn't think looked good. I wish I knew you could have changed them. I just thought Carnival was slow on selling excursions on my sailing over Christmas. I even got FTTF for $49.95 opposed to the standard $59.95.

This was also a casino rate. I guess it's always offered, but I've never checked the excursion page immediately after booking.

I have never received a discount offer. We always book early saver and usually the excursions aren't listed at the time of our early booking.

I would definitely take advantage of it if I did get lucky enough to receive the offer.

  • 1 year later...

I see this is an old Thread but I did receive the offer when I booked my cruise for Sept 2017. It was a casino past guest booking offer. Not prepared at booking to buy excursions. Hope it again become available before sailing date.

I recieved the 20% offer too! We did not book directly thru Carnival, but I logged on a few minutes later and added the new booking to our account. I happened to go to the Manage page the next evening and there was a countdown that I had 18 hours left for the offer. I thought odd that there was never an email or notification of the offer. If I had not went to that page specifically I never would have known.

We booked about a month ago for a June Dream sailing - our first on Carnival and got the offer. We had to book within 48 hours I think. I was not prepared at the time of booking but I spent my weekend researching so we could take advantage of the offer. It seemed like a pretty good deal. We did not book an ES rate - I thought maybe it was a first time cruiser on Carnival thing but it looks like that might not be the case.

I THINK it has something to do with how far out your cruise is. I booked five in the past year, four months was the maximum time out from booking to sailing - I got the offer every time.

This! We always book far out. Recently we added a cabin for a friend about 4 mos out of sailing ... we got the offer on her cabin. I think it was 24 hours ... but it might have been 48. Never seen it before or since.

I didn't book directly through Carnival; however, I am a VIFP cruiser. We booked our cruise for December 23, 2017 departure on the evening of March 2, 2017. I added the booking to my carnival.com account on March 3rd. That same day I perused excursions and the 20% bundle offer popped up. It was good for 24 hours. Like the others stated, I was able to change my options for both ports. Good saving, and no penalty to cancel if we do so 4 hour or more before the cruise departs !!! That made it less stressful to decide on excursions so quickly. Though I did take the time to research most of the options that looked interesting for my family,

We booked a NY-Canada cruse last week for 2 September 2017 and had 48 hours to get the bundled excursion discount. We were able to chose between excursions from thee ports. Found three we liked and saved $100.

Cheers and happy cruising.
