Has anyone ever Won - RC Raffles and Giveaways (Jewelry, Champagne, Spa, etc.)

On one of our first cruises we guessed the guess the price of the art so we won a free piece of "art". Cost us more to have it shipped back home than it's worth. It's still sitting in its cardboard tube under the bed. Maybe one day it will end up on e bay.

I (and four others) "won" a piece of art ( i.e. Poster) but when I heard the shipping charge ($35 for a tube!) I declined.

I learned early. That happened on my very first cruise.

Haven't been back to an "art" auction since.

We have been lucky to win several times on our RCCL cruises...

My wife has won free internet during our cruise. She also won a free Spa Treatment and massage.

Now if you are talking bingo...well... We have won a few times there too... But our biggest win was yelling BINGO on the Liberty of the seas and winning a free 7 day cruise the next year on Freedom of the seas.

I notice on Day 1 - RC do a lot of raffles and giveaways. Is it worth my time to pursue - has anyone won (bottle of champagne, jewelry, spa, etc.). I do have on list to do the free liquor tasting. Has anyone attended the free liquor tasting event before - thoughts please. Thanks in advance.

We try to participate and have won several times, but if we are enjoying the drinks by the pool to much we don't just go to try and win.

I've won two raffles- both on the same cruise (Freedom). They were both in the jewelry store. My husband was shopping for a watch that cruise and we were there for some watch unveiling (which I'm sure they unveil every week!), and we entered the free raffle and I won a pair of TAG sunglasses.

Later in the week, he bought a watch onboard and they gave us a bunch of tickets to enter into an end of the cruise raffle and I won that too. It had a gazillion things in it from the onboard shops - 4 or 5 t-shirts, a model of the ship, a blow up ship, a teddy bear with a RCCL tshirt on, a box of Tortuga rumcakes, a bottle of rum, one of those "pandora" bracelets, a man's watch ($10 version), a woman's watch ($10 version), a navy blue RCCL beach towel, waterproof wallets, keychains, highlighters and maybe a couple of other things that I'm not remembering - and it was all in a royal caribbean rolling carry on tote like bag.

Last year on Carnival Splendor they had a rep from Le Vian and they held a "guess the gem" contest type raffle. It was a ring with a light green stone not from the Le Vian line.

I wrote down Amethyst on my ticket. They said only 2 people guessed right and then they called my name. Whooo hooo, I thought I won the ring but they handed me a box of cheap costume jewelry I'm sure they must sell at the $10.00 table.

I said jokingly "Wait a minute I thought I was getting that ring!" and everybody laughed. Haha. Apparently most people there also thought it would be for a real piece of jewelry. There had to be a hundred people jammed inside and out of that little store.

It was a ploy to get as many people in there so they could sell Le Vian jewelry, but hey it was the first time I ever won a raffle so I was happy.:D

Best prize ever at the Meet and Mingle: on Legend Panama Canal hubby won lunch in Chops on the day we went through the locks. Chops is located on top of the ship so the views were great The lunch was available to purchase but lunch was the same price as dinner for that special day/time.

On our last cruise I won a watch at the TAG watch draw in the Regalia Luxury Watches shop but it wasn't a TAG, just a cheap watch set that normally sold for $19.95 onboard but it was in a nice TAG tote bag which was likely worth more than the watch set. :D

Mine was the fourth ticket drawn as those with the first three drawn weren't there to claim their prize. ;)

I sometimes go to the shopping talks as a form of entertainment (been to them a LOT over the years, and they've really gone down-hill). Years ago the port shopping maps would be several pages, and the raffles would be for things like a diamond tennis bracelet. Now the port shopping maps list very few stores, the raffles don't seem to be for anything of value, and the things that they throw (shell leis, del sol plastic rings, a frisbee) are for real junk that doesn't warrant an hour of time that could be spent enjoying the ship IMO. Still, when the doors open, hoards of women run for the front rows in the hope of winning something. Funny that it's usually women....guess we just love the thought of bargains....

I won the cabin giveaway in the casino which is usually a GS, but that night it was a JS and since I was already in one, they allowed me to pulled another name after asking me if I wanted to switch from my JS to the JS I won...lol

A very nice older couple who happened to work at the terminal in Bayonne and were taking there first cruise in an inside cabin and got to upgrade to the JS. Happy Ending!

We won an watch on Grandeur. The draw was at 9pm and you had to be there to win. The night of the draw the ship was really rocking and rolling and we were the only ones that showed up. They just gave us the watch.

In '06 my DH won a "free" cruise in "Win Cruise Bingo." Ever since we play every cruise. This past January on Navigator we went but they did a raffle for the "Free Cruise" instead of a Bingo game. He won again! We are using on the May 15th sailing of Allure.

I've been fairly lucky...knock on wood...

I've won bingo multiple times...in fact on a trip on Grandeur a few years ago, I won enough at raffels and bingo to basically cruise free ;)

I've won diamond chip earrings, gold anklets, amber earrings, messenger bags, tees out the whazoo, free internet (which I promptly gave back to the CD to let him pull another name since I don't use it on board), and on average I win at least one time at bingo on each trip.

Hope I haven't jinxed myself, but the trick with the drawings is to show up..especially for the early morning ones;) Many times my name was not the first one drawn!

HTH YMMV

Why do you say "Free Cruise" in quotations? Is it not really free? I've always wondered what kind of restrictions, if any, they put on those free cruises. Are there date restrictions? Restrictions on cruise length, destination, ship? Is there a dollar amount attached? Or is it truly a "take any cruise on any ship anywhere you want for free" kind of thing?

How can you see the activities that will be available on your cruise prior to the cruise? Sorry this off topic a bit.

You can get a good idea by looking at the Cruise Compass (daily schedule) from a recent cruise on the same ship sailing the same itinerary. Quite often the Cruise Compasses are posted in this form either by themselves or as a part of a review.

On the Allure, I won one of '60 Seconds or Less' battles, for two keychains... (yes, they used to give better prizes).

Not RCI, but still same company... Then I won a trivia on Celebrity Reflection's Breitling store: bottle of sparkling wine, with a Breitling sticker, and luggage tag.
