rtj099 Posted October 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2016 We are cruising to St Thomas, Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados and a couple others the week of Christmas. Temperature wise will it be nice enough for beach days? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cdn_tbird Posted October 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2016 We cruised there the week before Christmas and while not scorching hot, it was good beach weather for us. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

leaveitallbehind Posted October 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2016 The Caribbean is essentially summer weather all year round - in particular the Southern Caribbean. It will be very hot over Christmas - 80's in the day, mid 70's at night.

cb at sea Posted October 25, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Summer ALL THE TIME in the Caribbean! I know it's hard to believe when you live in a 4 season area...but it's true!!!
DirtyDawg Posted October 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Temperature in the Caribbean stays warm year round. Should be 80s. I guess that's why we haven't had a gold medal winning Olympic ice hockey team from those islands.;)
Nebr.cruiser Posted October 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Absolutely will be beach weather. As others have said, 80's and higher. We cruise in December every year and I don't think I've ever seen temps below 70.

Rare GeezerCouple Posted October 25, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 25, 2016 I am a TOTAL wimp in terms of not liking cold water. That is, I don't even want to get into "slightly warm-ish water", as described by others ... because it's ALWAYS too cold for me. :( But in St. Lucia, during two different holiday cruises, I easily got into the water, and did not want to come out, ever! (Same thing happened in Bermuda over Labor Day weekend, when the water is just about at its warmest. But it's not that way year round, the way it is in the Southern Caribbean, and maybe elsewhere in the Caribbean.) You'll need sunscreen, just as though it was peak summer at home, especially mid day. It was absolutely wonderful there :) Enjoy!

I think because of the currents coming from Alaska.
TitanSMES Posted October 25, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Relax. A bunch of politicians and movie "stars" with Doctorates in various sciences tell us we are experiencing "global warming". They can't be all wrong! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare geoherb Posted October 26, 2016 #19 Share Posted October 26, 2016 The water is too cool for DH to swim in the Bahamas from December through April. I think it's fine. He's able to get into the water without any problems at the island farther south, such as St. Martin and St. Thomas.
OCruisers Posted October 26, 2016 #20 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Never a problem with the water temperatures in the Virgin Islands and BELOW!
