If you like to win at trivia, seek out a loud, boisterous, pot-bellied, occasionally flamboyant British man named Mike and beg him to let you be on his team. You better be nice and pull your own weight, though, or he will cast you out.

Yaye Sally, thanks for taking the time to do a live.

Can't wait to hear all about your trip with the guys, I am sure there will be many fun moments to have.

Creepy thing to happen outside your hotel, you handled it very well.

Enjoy and try to get some rest. I kind of agree with you about the bathtubs while travelling. I am sorry you still suffer from the Escape issue last year, that is awful.

Enjoy, from a fellow Ottawan!

Following your review. I'll be on the EPIC in 3 1/2 weeks when she will depart from PC into the Eastern Caribbean. So I would be very interested in a photo of the current staff (I think there's a board where all members are listed on), that would be really great!!!

Also some insights (positive impressions of the crew...) or do's and don'ts specific for the EPIC would be fantastic.

Have a wonderful stop at Tenerife on Wednesday and in SAN Juan a couple of days later, I'll definetely will watch your arrival on the 12th of November at 8:00 am via Webcam in Port Canaveral http://www.portcanaveralwebcam.com.

Have a wonderful trip

Cheers Oliver

Day 1

I headed over to the port by taxi around 10:30. They dropped me off in front of the Epic, but it turned out that was where the Jade checked in, so I had to walk for about 5 minutes to get to the Epic. That sounds like nothing, but my suitcase weighs a ton, so it was a bit of a chore.

Relieved of my bag, I walked into the terminal and heard the announcement that check in was open, so my timing was great. There was a huge line and it was blocking the access to the Haven check in, but I managed to squeeze through and get in my line. There were five people ahead of me, one couple I knew as part of the LGBT group that I'm an honourary member of. I also managed to make friends with the rest of the line, everyone in high spirits and anxious to get onboard. I checked in with my e-docs on my iPad with no issue and onto the Haven lounge. It was about 20 minutes later that the woman behind me came in. Apparently right after I checked in, their computers went down.

We were escorted up to the Haven, David the Concierge said "Hi Sally! Welcome Back!" Nice to be recognized :) They were doing a Haven tour which I passed on, instead I went up to Posh for a drink. Back down to the lounge where we greeted all of our friends as they came in. Lots of hugs, kisses and lots of noise. We all had lunch in the Haven restaurant, our table was for 10 and many other tables scattered about. Onto Posh and lots of drinks, muster, then back up for more.

Around 6:30 I headed to the casino and my friends Rob and Linda joined me. At some point my friend Ian came by and said "We're going to the Noodle Bar, we are saving you a seat". It's a good thing, otherwise I probably wouldn't have eaten. Dinner was great, lots of plates for sharing, great company.

I headed back to the casino and didn't have any luck. I hit a few hands, but hardly anything at all. I decided it was time for bed. I said goodbye and said I'd hit a slot machine on the way out. I chose a $5 machine, threw in $100 and five spins in I won $915. I cashed out, very happy and headed to bed.

My suite is absolutely amazing. I'll add photos later I don't want to show pics of my unmade bed :) I have a huge living room, gorgeous bedroom and insane bathroom. My balcony is 35 feet long by 6 feet wide. Beautiful ocean views and also looks over the pool deck.

I slept very well, up at 8:00 AM and up to Posh. The guys started filtering in, we had a couple of drinks and I came back to my room to catch up on my blog.

I'm having a blast, nothing exciting to write about yet, but I know there's fun times ahead! It's Halloween, and I'm part of a group costume for tonight's party. The LGBT group has their own party, then we all parade through the restaurants and the casino, then NCL has a party with prizes. All very fun. I think I'll have a snooze this aft to get ready for the busy night ahead.

Thanks for following along, I really appreciate all of the comments :)

The very best wishes for a fantastic transatlantic sailing coming your way, Sally! Enjoy it to the fullest!

I will be embarking the day you arrive in Canaveral. Excited to be back on my fave NCL ship, and especially with it in my own 'back yard' this time.

I do have one research question if you have an opportunity to ask (and Thanks!) ... earlier word from NCL said there could be a somewhat significant turnover of crew once back in the States. I'm just curious if that is still being planned.

Again, have a super splendiferous time at sea on Epic!!

Day 2

Lunch was at the Epic Club with a couple of friends, BJ and Ray. Food was great, I had the beef dip (again) I love it! I went down to the casino after lunch and wasn't having any luck until my dealer was tapped out and my favourite sat down. I met Ingrid on the Star transatlantic. On the first night I had a hour before dinner so played 3 card poker with her. Within the hour, she'd dealt me 3 three of a kinds and one she had the 4th for the bonus. Every time I see her I have fond memories.

As soon as she sat down, the cards started going my way, straights, flushes, trips and one 4 of a kind :) It was fantastic.

I quit well I was ahead and went back to the cabin for a snooze. Zonked right out. Went up to Posh and hung with the guys for a bit, and back to the casino where I won a little bit more. It was Halloween, so I had to go get ready for the party in Spice H20. I was part of a group, we were all Peanuts characters. I was Sally (appropriately) my friend Ken was Schroeder and he even lugged a piano with him. It was so great.

Partied there until after midnight, then back to the casino, where I was dealt 3 eights at 3 card poker :) by then I was hungry, I hadn't eaten dinner, so went to Bliss to see if any of the guys wanted to eat.

I ended up dancing there and having a blast until 3:00 AM, then we all went to O'Sheehan's, so got back to the cabin at 4:00, thankfully it was one of our six 25 hour days due to the time change, but I slept like a log until 10:30 when the spa called to tell me about their specials. Up to Posh, for the morning and catching up.

I went to take photos of the suite, but my phone is dead, so I will add them later.

Thanks again for following along!

It's foggy today, but I have a perfect view from my bed of the Epic just sitting there teasing me.

Oooh! SuiteCruiser! It's you who's teasing me.

My company has an office at the World Trade Center, just on the peninsular outside of the range of your photo. Two different years I sat in conference rooms overlooking these ships and *wishing* I was getting on-board too.

You're bringing back great memories! Thank you and have a wonderful time.

Keep the pics coming (as wifi allows!).

I cruise the Epic in a couple of months. I have to know, which seat were you sitting in and how many people at the table. Also if you don't mind can you check out the Blackjack conditions. Any double deck, any shoe games or are they all continuous shuffle. If they have shoe games or better yet double deck pitch games what are the table minimums.

TIA and have a great cruise. I have always sailed Carnival but for some reason my offers dried up. I'm sure I will love NCL.

Following along with you.
