CasinoCruzGirl- Could you find out from a smoker on board if you can have a cigarette on promenade deck? I really would much appreciate that answer without starting a thread. Thank you!

On my December 4th Jade cruise? I'll find out all areas as best as I can for you. We have the garden villa and are allowed to smoke on our deck so I will mostly be ther but I will look for u. Please remind me when I get back.

Hmmm did u mean he Epic? Sally help this girl out if she means the Epic and not the Jade. Thanks honey

I went down to the pool and had a couple of drinks overlooking the Mediterranean, then headed off to an early dinner at my favourite Italian restaurant on the Boardwalk, Mamarosa. The pizza was even better than I remembered, a couple of $5 glasses of great wine

It's the Epic I'm asking about and just promenade deck. Just wondering if this ship is going to allow it with the life boats in the way.

Hey ... they finally let me post on the boards.... In Tenerife

at a little café just off the bus with fast free wifi ....

We met at the 3 card poker table.

I'm a first time cruiser and loving the Epic :>

Did good on 3 card poker and found a few friendly slot machines

last night and made the 1500 points for free drinks in the casino...

That helps a bunch since I didn't get the drink package :>

I'm sure I'll see you on board again!

Sounds like a great cruise so far, I'll be on Epic in 31 days!!!... Can't wait to hear more and see the pictures!!! If you head to Cagney's, look for my friend May and tell her hi from Dan! Also, if you have a chance, could you let me know who the officers are?

Hello to everyone on the ship right now. Do any of you have the ability to post a photo of the Continental Breakfast Menu?

In particular, I would like to know if it includes cereal and yogurt.

Have a great crossing, we will hop on it as you get off in Port Canaveral.

Wow! Thanks. Posh looks different than the pics/videos I've seen. Cushions are white not red and it looks like there are lots more umbrellas!! Did this change happen in last dry dock? With that much shade available posh looks like it might be perfect.

Day 3

Went to lunch with Chad and Alessio, we were in the Epic Club (Haven Restaurant) and one of the other guys came in and told us to join them in the Epic Grill, where a group of 8 were just about to order. We headed out there, the waitress came and took our order and then the other group's order. Our food arrived first, and the rest of the guys had to wait. I think they regretted getting us ;)

Back up to Posh for a while, the weather has been amazing. Down to the casino and no luck at all. Back to the cabin, where I read and fell asleep.

Went back to the casino again just donating, headed up to my room early as I had an excursion at 7:45 the next day. There were sandwiches and chips, they must have just been delivered since the chips were still crisp. They quickly get soggy, so they should serve them separately. I ate the sandwiches for dinner, then into bed, reading again and eventually falling asleep. I woke up every hour to check the time, finally up at 6:40, showered, dressed and headed to Epic Club for my first breakfast of the cruise.

Day 4

Met the guys at the Haven for our tour. One of our guys, Scott, who is a TA had arranged for a full day excursion through NCL, just for our group.

We went up the mountains to the volcano, the drop offs from the side of the road were over a thousand feet at some places. It was a bit much for some, a couple were nauseas from the twisting and turning of the road. We stopped at a restaurant up top for a quick drink, then onto this area with beautiful rock formations.

Back down the mountain and into town, where there was a 2.5 mile walk. Myself and one other stayed onboard the bus, as I didn't think my hips could take the hills and the long walk. Picked them all up again and off to a quick lunch in Santa Cruz.

Back to the ship at 3:20.

I was co-hosting a group party in my suite, Scott and Dustin had the other DOS that was the mirror image of mine, it was such a big group that we needed both suites.

The Concierge, David, loves this group and has had a long relationship with Scott and Dustin, and went all out for our party. We had platters of egg rolls, beef satay, shrimp skewers, chicken wings and they brought in a large cooler full of champagne into each suite and then had waiters come up to take drink orders, our butlers walked around serving champagne and we had about 180 people through the two suites.

The party was supposed to wrap at 5:30, but continued on and eventually they shut down at Scott and Dustin's and everyone else headed over to mine.

At one point I thought it would be fun to see how many people.would fit into my shower, and we managed to get 11 people. 10 with the door closed. Lots of laughs and it was a really great time.

The staff blew us away with the service. I certainly wouldn't expect the same treatment next time. They seemed to treat it like an NCL event and it was very much appreciated.

Eventually the place cleared out. I put all of the glasses and dishes on the table to lighten up the cleanup for the staff, and I headed to the casino.

The bad luck continued, so I went up to bed early.

I logged on briefly to check my messages and got some bad news regarding a friend who is very ill. I tried reading for a bit, but headed down to the casino for a distraction. Nothing had changed there, still rotten luck, but I felt a bit better to be surrounded to people and noise for a little while.

Back to bed, watched a movie and finally fell asleep around 2:00 AM. Woke up at 8:00 and made myself go back to sleep.

Up to Posh to discover it's actually raining, thoughI couldn't tell that from my balcony since it was dry. Back down to my cabin to catch up on this and read for a bit.

A couple of answers:

Sounds like the rumour of staff changeover in Port Canaveral is true.

Posh had the changes in dry dock, the misting system works and the cushions are beige instead of those lovely red ones.

I've heard that there is a smoking section down on 7. I haven't been down that way though, it could be the cigar bar?

Today the weather is cruddy, had a hard time logging in, will post pics tomorrow from the party and the excursion.

Having a great time, though the casino is taking all of my money :( I will have another good day soon I'm sure.

Tonight is Teppanyaki with Rob and Linda, my friends from the UTH table. Looking forward to spending time in Posh tomorrow. Captain says weather should be good straight through. Very light seas.

Thanks again for following along!

Thanks SO much, Sally, for confirming what someone at corporate had mentioned to me a few months ago about the anticipated plans. With that, the new home port, and a strong propensity of a full crew drill by Coast Guard immediately after transatlantic sailings . . . I'll be putting my patience pants on and will be prepared to begin my cruise with a positive mindset, no matter the unique occurrences that day.

Continue having a great time!!! :D
