Way to go RC! More than an hour and a half wait to get off ship at Coco Cay. No priority disembarkation for suites. What's the point of paying a lot more money if all I do is shuffle in line? It's not about being snotty. It's about paying a premium price price but getting a sub par experience.

We thought so. Nada. Asked. No priority at all. Just line after line. Send email just now (nothing else to do...standing in line again) to the corporate email on web site. Is there a better way to have this addressed? Who is in charge who is empowered to make things right?

Tell the concierge. I won't dogpile on you like the Loyal Royals here will. You paid for certain perks, you should receive them. Very simple. If the concierge won't address them make sure all he gets is a firm handshake at the end of the trip.

Didn't they hand out tender tickets? And,yes, I get that the concierge usually does escort those with CL privileges to the front of the line. On Vision last year we met in the CL and the concierge walked us to the first tender going ashore in Grand Cayman. It's the only time we've ever used the "privilege". We're going to Coco Cay in April and unless the concierge says we're being escorted, we'll just grab tickets.

When we sail in suites and are on ships that require a tender, we just get up a little early and wait in line to get off the ship.

Yes we are in a suite, but, everyone wants to get on shore for whatever reason and we wait with every one else.

We have met some really nice people we would have never met had we not done this.

We always made one of the first tender boats even when we did not book an early RCI excursion.

Now when we sail the Oasis class the one perk we do enjoy is the escort off the ship to customs.

Sorry for your hardship, just saying.

Enjoy cruising we do.

I am somewhat surprised by all the negative comments. I just booked a cruise for New Years and spent a fair amount of time trying to decide between a Veranda room or a Suite. One of the benefits of the Suite is priority disembarkation, which impacts flights home, etc. I did book the Suite, but now I am wondering if it is going to be uncomfortable to use some of the perks that I decided to pay extra for? Are other passengers going to be offended and put off by this? I mean if someone purchases a First Class Plane ticket because they want a meal and then no meal is served, aren't they entitled to be upset about it? I don't know what the attitude is on board for this type of thing. Is it fine and accepted and you all are just commenting because he is publicly complaining or do you feel that he should not expect the added benefits that came with the Suite because that's snobbery and all he should get is a bigger room?

Priority debarkation just means you will be given an early time to get off the ship, usually after those that carry off their own luggage. You will be reporting to a location where the concierge will walk you off. They usually take everyone by elevator directly down to the debarkation level and that way you don't have to wait in a line that winds down the stairs (sometimes). They really have debarkation down to a science now. Unlike how it used to be handled and people just got off at will which meant long lines.

I wouldn't be concerned. If there are benefits associate with the stateroom category you book, then that is part of the program. No one else should be offended by - or even realize the difference - in what those benefits bring to you. Needing the early disembarkation, or enjoying the Concierge Lounge (if RCI) while on board, etc., are legitimate perks that come with what what you booked. And they are available anyone who wishes to book in that category.

I think it is a matter of how one acts on board regarding those benefits that sets some apart from others. IMO there is a difference between enjoying and taking advantage of benefits provided, and acting as though you are entitled to them. Mostly a matter of attitude and perception as I see it.

Book the category you prefer to cruise with and take advantage of all that comes with it in making your cruise better for you. Most of all, enjoy your cruise! :)

Maybe yours was not one of the "select cruises" that has priority tendering for suite guests.

As has been mentioned, this should be taken up with Concierge in the CL. When we last sailed on Grandeur, the concierge told us when to meet in VCL and then escorted us down to tenders. If you missed this time, you needed to wait in line with everyone else. I am surprised that this was not offered on your cruise - the concierges on Grandeur were always top notch.

I agree that priority tendering is important on Grandeur. People post on here frequently that they are able to get off easily with out tender tickets. But, on the Grandeur this has not been my experience. . . . It is always a long process.

I would check with the Concierge. It will be too late for Coco Cay but it may be helpful for disembarkation.

I have sailed GR several times, all in suites. There are two times that you are escorted to the front if line when tendering (at any port). Both are within the first hour of scheduled first tender. You meet in the lounge and he brings you down as a group. The first time is typically the same tender as Royal excursions get( very first one away). The second one is usually 30 minutes or so later. They do not offer front of the line access all day.

Op is correct. I had a cabana and was told by the suite concierge to wait untill 10 to try and get off the ship to miss the rush. Mind you tendering was scheduled to start ansndt 9:30 so 10 would have been in the middle of the rush. No priority tender tickets, or tender tickets of any kind. Concierge came over early to talk with island concierge so was not on ship to help with lines.

Also, even though my reservation mentioned i am vegiterian the only option, other than desert, at the upgraded buffet was apples, bananas, and potato salad. Manager in charge of buffet went to one of the normal buffet to get a Vegiburger. This could have been on location, but not cooked, until asked for.

No. They weren't even sure that they'd even be able to tender and made last-minute decision.

You're correct, you cannot delete a post. But, you can change it for about 15 minutes after you post and make the content something like "Deleted".

Not sure your title isn't misleading...Secondly maybe you do, maybe you don't know this but the Concierge will escort you off the ship early at a certain time. If your not there at the specified time your on your own. The Concierge doesn't sit around all day waiting for you to call him on the bat phone to say you need to be escorted off the ship, just saying....K.O.
