URGENT! Daughter left wallet on Epic; needs it to travel

My young adult daughter was on a 3 day music cruise and just got to the airport, where she discovered SHE LEFT HER WALLET IN THE ROOM. I am ready to scream! She needs her license! She called Norwegian and they told her they would have info for her *after the next sailing*. WHAT? I found the number for the lost & found and she is on hold now. She needs to go back and get this today...anyone have any advice or suggestions? This is a disaster :eek:

Hopefully she had her passport separate from her wallet and she can use that to travel then follow up with her wallet next week! ;( I really don't think there is much she will be able to do about it until the ship returns, even if at next port they were to drop it in the mail she will not get it until after the ship returns anyway. Very bad situation to be in but unfortunately I do not think there is much she can do with such a small time frame.

I hope she immediately left the airport and returned to the cruise terminal, rather than sitting somewhere waiting for a response.

Thank you all. She has talked to 2 different entities within Norwegian, the lost and found, and the ship hotel itself. There is no way she's getting this today. The good news is she has her passport and her room key. I was able to download a temporary license for her after ordering a replacement online (she doesn't live here anymore, she will be driving home tonight). She's on the phone cancelling her credit & debit cards. Ugh....does it ever end, this parenting thing? :p

God help me. I have a 22yo graduating college in May and going into the Peace Corps for two years. Great kid but he would loose his head if it wasn't attached to his body

Unfortunately I was a late in life baby, so I went through that circle already while my kids were quite young. It was a horrible time. :(

Hi. I just came back on the thread to see if she made out okay and got everything canceled.

Glad your dd has her passport. I have a 23 year old dd in law school and a ds away in college and they are still my adult "kids" LOL

 

At least she called you and you were able to guide her :)

adults make them too!

 

we had to get forward on the BA to disembark with a special group. we were staying aft. since i'm a genius i decided to take the elevator to 7 and walk across casino level to the theater. anyone who has done this knows how smart it is.

 

i should have walked across the top deck and come down forward elevators no matter how long the wait for one

 

anywho....we were literally fighting our way upstream against people when we approached the atrium, which probably took 10 min or more..my friend told me she left her purse in the room!!!:eek::eek::eek:

 

i fought the crowd both ways and got her purse then we fought the rest of the way forward but it was probably the worst crowd ive endured in my life.

One of the saddest stories I have heard is the family with 5 children who were going on their first cruise for which they had been saving for quite some time.

 

They flew to Miami from their home in the Midwest. While on the airplane Mom got out the envelope with all their passports and documents. She put it in the seat pocket of the airplane and promptly forgot it.

 

It was the day before the cruise when this happened. She did not realize until the next morning when they were heading to the terminal what she had done. Calls to the airline were fruitless. They were stranded in Florida, missed their cruise and had to find a place to stay for a week.

 

Needless to say Mom was a wreck, Dad was furious and kids were beyond consolation.

 

Guess it worked out though because they took a cruise a couple of years later.

Did you not read the part where it says she will be driving tonight?

 

And if she would get stopped for anything her SS# would be sufficient for law enforcement to run to show she had a valid DL.

 

Her explanation of leaving it on the ship would be sufficient with the afore mentioned scenario!

As far as vacation/airport related incidents that have happened lately, I wouldn't call this a disaster.

A friend told me this story of a family on their first cruise.

 

The couple got to cruise car park in Southampton and handed over their car keys with valet parking to park the car. They then excitedly boarded the ship for their first ever cruise.

 

Later got to the cabin and waited and waited for their luggage, it didn't come so went to reception. After long searches and no joy, luggage not found. It was finally realised they had left all their luggage still in the boot of the car!

 

They thought that valet parking meant that person would have unloaded luggage onto ship of course they hadn't, so no clothes for two weeks, nightmare!
