Just for fun, what is the single worst thing you have seen a carnival cruiser doing?

Recommended Posts

While everyone was standing so close together?! I imagine the folks next to her were not pleased!

Yeah, at first we couldn't figure out why everyone was shifting. Then we saw the puddle and run-off. Turns out the Inspiration lists a bit when docked in Long Beach.

Maybe the women were twerking.

I would say from the comments the women behind us in line were making - no they were not. The guy was just a jerk. I can guarantee that my 75 year old mother was not twerking. Sorry, but I don't find it funny when some drunk is grabbing my Mother (or anyone else for that matter). I know you are trying to make light of it but if it happened to your Mother and she had survived half of what my Mother had been through you would be offended.

For the others who commented on pressing charges. I left it up to my Mother as she was the one who had been groped. She took into account the fact that he appeared to have had a lot to drink. She too thought, as someone else had posted, that he may have a problem with boundaries and might be a habitual grabber. She did not want to press charges in Grand Turk. Carnival Security contacted us several times during the remainder of the cruise and even checked with us when disembarking to make sure that she did not want to press charges in Miami. She was concerned about getting to the airport in time if we had to make statements again in order to press charges. I cannot stress enough how well the Security Staff treated us and handled the situation and that really kept a nasty incident from ruining our vacation.

The worst that I can remember was on our B2B on Legend with my fiancé, good friends, their two kids, and myself. We were in Cozumel and after coming back from diving, I got dressed up (long sundress) and went to the Atrium Bar for a drink and to wait for the others to join up with for dinner. There was one seat at the bar, and unfortunately, it was next to this guy who was totally plastered. With each sip, he kept saying Cheers to me and I "cheered " him back a couple times. But, it was getting annoying, so I downed my drink and got up to leave. As I was getting off the high stool, he grabbed my left hand and tried to stop me from going. But, he couldn't stand up and fell down on the dance floor, almost pulling my engagement ring off my hand. He was spread-eagled on the floor, and I just rolled my eyes, shook my head, and left.

I told my fiancé and friends about it and they wanted to see him. He was gone by then (probably hauled off by Security). But, I saw him the next day as we were getting off the ship again and pointed him out. My fiancé wanted to tell him he had good taste in women. LOL!

I was sitting at a three card table in the casino with several other people which included a very snarky woman. She'd been fairly negative the whole time she was sitting there, which most gamblers hate. It sucks having complaining and bitching ..that negativity is just bad luck for us gamblers. It got worse though. She started in about the crane games and how "well, you know, only Asians win on those. That's the kind of people they are you know. I saw this one (name she called him not mentioned for the sake of decency) sit there forever but he kept winning because you know how those (name again) are...

One gentleman at the table simply stood up and looked right at her and said.."Shut the hell up"

Our dealer was obviously horribly uncomfortable (she was from the Philippines) and I was mortified.

The woman looked at him with her mouth open, then said all huffy "well I guess some people are in a bad mood" and gathered up her chips and left. We all breathed a collective sigh of relief and played some tips for the dealer. I left after about two more hands..kinda killed it. God some people are ignorant cretins. Kudos to that guy who stood up, and I'm still a little embarrassed to this day that I didn't do it first.

On my last cruise there were so many people in the hot tub you literally could not have fit another. I think they were all one family and there were several small children who kept going back and forth from pool to hot tub. I counted and at one point there were 14 people in the hot tub. Gross.

On a cruise about 3 years ago, we noticed a very large man in the hot tub drinking heavily and not leaving the hot tub for many many hours (we had assumed he was doing his business in the hot tub). And this would go on every day of the cruise

Needless to say we never once went into that hot tub the entire cruise

I took a Thanksgiving cruise a few years ago and had YTD. One of the nights there was a large family of 10 or so and they had been arguing the whole meal. It sounded like they had made plans in port and someone forgot to tell one of the family members that the plans had changed. I don't remember what the woman was saying but I know she was being loudly upset and passive aggressive about it and her husband was screaming at her the whole time to shut up but it escalated so quickly when he started waving his dinner knife at her telling her to just kill herself and told her he would help her jump off the ship. The children were crying and eventually the woman got up and left and the rest of the family ate in silence for the remainder of the meal.

I have many I can share, but one that comes to mind - standing on the 9th deck at the rail watching for sailaway and this "gentleman" standing next to me lets loose with a big spit of tobacco juice over the side. I felt so sorry for the dock workers below waiting to let the ropes loose.

Its mind blowing what people think is acceptable behavior.

That is... very sad. And alarming.

Husband and I were on the Lido deck eating lunch, when this guy sits at the table next to us and starts picking his feet. :o

My husband asked the man if he could move elsewhere as we were trying to eat, the man continued to pick . . . we ended up leaving due to loss of appetite.

And you have to wonder what brain cells are working that allows them to have a job and earn enough money to go on a cruise in the first place!

Got another one. My fiancé and I were sitting at the Atrium Bar on Miracle and there was a couple next to us who were regulars at that bar like us. The women was an alcoholic and she was just about passed out on the bar. The guy dragged her away and they went up in the glass elevator, with her being supported by him, and completely bent over in half hanging over his arm, her long hair almost touching the floor. Everyone watched them as the elevator went up.

This makes me wonder if they were trying to encourage you to press charges--maybe they had dealt with this guy before and was really hoping someone would agree to press charges so they could get him out of there??

I'm so sorry you thought I was making light of what happened to your mother. I was most definitely not. I am sorry that any of those women had to deal with that @@^^&*#*. I was actually trying to make a comment on people who blame women when men behave badly. Again, I apologize for upsetting you.

A couple who sat down next to us in the MDR right after the past guest party had brought several bottles of free beer from the party in the ladies' purse. They didn't realize that the caps had been loosened. She spent the whole time we were eating trying to dry out everything in her purse.

This was my first thought also.

Unfortunately many don't want to 'be a bother' and won't do anything about it.

Ma be they were looking for that final straw to put him on the Do Not Sail list.

No worries. I am a little protective of my Mother and misread your response. Apology accepted and my lecture/rant is withdrawn.:D

Sorry to go off topic - but my Mother was always concerned when I was on a cruise and wanted daily emails to assure her we were all alive & well. She had a good time except for this one incident. She now wants to treat my brothers & I and our families to a cruise at her expense.
