Just for fun, what is the single worst thing you have seen a carnival cruiser doing?

Recommended Posts

this kid about 10 years old was eating food at the buffet line just reaching into the food and eating it with his hands. Also, these 4 teens were riding the elevator just sitting on the floor and wouldn't move,we were waiting on elevator coming back from port and we saw elevator open up 3 times and they were just sitting on the floor and no one could get on.

I took my 75 year old Mother on her first cruise last month. She is a cancer survivor and her most recent battle resulted in a double mastectomy 3 years ago. Grand Turk was our last port. She finally got up the courage to put on her cute swimsuit with matching cover up & flip flops that she had bought for the trip. While we were in line getting back on the ship she told me they better get the line moving or there was going to be a fight behind us. Apparently there was a guy (guessing in his 40"s that had too much to drink that was grabbing women's butts. Whenever someone would call him out on it he would just say "oh I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that". He grabbed one woman's backside and her husband started to intervene and she stopped him. When the guy gave his "Oh, I'm sorry, - I didn't mean to do that" she told him that she saw him grab her daughter's friends butt 5 times. While grabbing every woman's butt within reach he was flirting with another woman.

Anyway, next thing I know, my Mother has her finger in his face and warning him that if he does that again he will be sorry Then she told me he had grabbed her butt too. He had to reach around the woman he was flirting with to grab my Mother. I put my Mother in front of me in line and let him know what I thought of him. He was just being a jerk, smirked and told me - "I already said I'm sorry. What more do you want?" So I told him I thought maybe I wanted him kicked off the ship and called the security person that was standing nearby. Well, Carnival takes this kind of thing very seriously. We actually could have pressed charges in Grand Turk (which means he would have missed the ship). Without going into a lot of detail, we did not press charges in Grand Turk or Miami (both options were given to us several times). The jerk was confined to his cabin for the rest of that night and not allowed to purchase alcohol for the remainder of the cruise. He claimed that he grabbed her back not her butt - like grabbing someone is ok. His explanation wasn't any more believable than his apologies. Follow up visits from Carnival security led us to believe that he was not endearing himself in their eyes either.

We were very impressed with how Carnival handled the situation. They even called my Mother at home after the cruise to make sure she was ok.

My Mother does have a sense of humor and told me, "well, I can see that I can't be wearing this swimsuit anymore if it makes me look this hot::p"

Years ago I believe it was the dream when she first started sailing out of port canaveral . Near the pool we notice a middle aged guy with these swollen legs . They were red looking sores all over his legs some sore were red and white. I remember thinking poor guy , and kinda admired him walking around in shorts trying to make the best of it .

Days later I'm having a cigar and more than a couple drinks down on deck 5 . In front of me is a jammed hot tub

Mostly young guys and girls drinking beers ,, I'm smiling thinking how many are relieving themselves in there . That's when the guy who has his back to me stands up and leaves ... it was the guy with the sores on his legs !

The faces of the drunks young ones were priceless and I was both horrified and laughing at the same time ... carnival version of Petrie dish

Not CCL, we were on another line, but we saw a funny one. My husband and I were going for an after dinner walk and ended up in an obscure little corner of the ship, and there was a man and a woman huddled in the corner, with his hand up her skirt and her top all askew. We just kept walking and made a joke about "get a room"........

The next night we are sitting next to the guy and his wife at a show - the wife was definitely NOT the woman from the night before.

D'oh!

This was more annoying than anything else. On my first cruise our family had dinner in the MDR every night. Every night this family at the table in front of us would come in with their son, maybe 3 or 4 years old. They would give a fork and a spoon and he would beat on the table during their entire meal. The last night of the cruise the family at the table to our right suggested that everyone give him proper goodbye. So when they entered everyone at all the tables around them picked their silverware and pounded on the tables. They got up and left, I guess they didn't like our pounding as much as their son's

Not the "worst," but certainly one of the funniest. Walked out of one of the stalls in the women's restroom near the casino and there was an elderly gentleman cleaning his dentures at the sink. Lol

On our third or fourth cruise, we were sat at a table for eight. When we arrived, a young couple from CA was there. Not talking to each other. Tried to make conversation without much luck. But the best was yet to come. Four people traveling together were supposed to join. They all entered the dining room but only three of them made it to the table. One of them was a jewel. Wife beater shirt, cutoff blue jean shorts, baseball cap worn backwards, etc. He ordered ribs and used his daisy dukes as a napkin. We never made it back to that table, thankfully, but saw these couples everywhere. CA couple fought the whole week while the other four were drunk everyday, eveytime we saw them. At least they seemed to enjoy the cruise.

When I turned around from getting a cone for frozen yogurt this kid (who looked like they hadn't bathed in days) had cut in front of me. He stuck his finger inside the dispenser and licked it, then (I kid you not) he put his mouth to hole and pulled the lever. He was like a mini crack addict unable to get his next fix fast enough.

I refuse to do pools.Always have and always will. And I was just proved right the other day.The wife and I were sitting on the Lido deck, overlooking the hot tub. Everybody got out of the hot tub pretty quickly. Someone left a big hard turd in there. And there was no kids in there. Just adults. So that force them to drain both hot tubs for about 6 hours. I had never seen it before in my lifetime. But that's a true story That is messed up. 🤢😷

Are you sure it was not just a Baby Ruth??

In the MDR I was seated at a large table and a young lady recognized and said "Hey, you're my psychiatrist!" I didn't recognize her, it had been a long time before. She was with a much older boyfriend. When his steak was served he proceeded to pour a lot of pepper on it which made him start sneezing. He sneezed over 20 times all over the table. I handed him a napkin which he didn't use. It was disgusting. I thought it was going to be a long week then remembered I could change tables and did.

My wife and I were on top deck and we had just laid down on a deck chair to catch some sun. All of a sudden it started to sprinkle rain. I looked up and nothing but blue sky. I then turned around around and saw an elderly Asian man with his grandson standing facing out at the rail. I then realized the little boy was peeing! The wind was blowing it piss all over the top deck. I yelled at the guy and pointed out the bathroom below on lido deck. My wife and I had to go shower to get the yellow rain off.[emoji51]

On one cruise, my last with Carnival, I saw public sex by two teenagers, a female peeing on deck, two ladies fighting over a t-shirt, and one intoxicated guy barfing on deck.

In all my cruises with other lines, I have never scene one of those items, or anything close to one of those items but yet, I saw all of them on one cruise with Carnival.

Although things happen on other cruise lines, they don't happen in the same frequency as they do on Carnival.

Here's a link to the thread I think the OP used as inspiration for this one http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2497569

All of the cruise lines seem to be well represented.

We were sitting on deck three of the Pride near the chapel, and we noticed people going into the incorrect bathrooms. The signage is a little confusing but not so much that 10 different people all went into the incorrect bathroom. I think it was more people just not really looking where they were going and assuming women's to the right, men to the left (and I believe this set of bathrooms is the opposite).

I have been on 7 Carnival cruises and 2 with Royal and I haven't seen anything worse on Carnival than Royal and actually the worst we have seen was a few drunk people.

I just wanted to ask what length and time of year were these cruises.

I will never take a short cruise or a cruise during spring break/summer.

Maybe I am wrong and have just been lucky but these two things seem to have a great deal of affect on the passenger base. IMHO. And I mean this generally; I am sure there are exceptions.

Great story and good to know Carnival took care of it.
