Vibe Beach Club on Getaway

Recommended Posts

It is about $100 per person and can be purchased at the Headliners Comedy Club- mid ship Deck 6.

Since I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible, is it worth to me. If I want sun Spice H2O at the rear of the ship on Deck 16 is where I go. It is opened to adults only until 7 P.M. Lots of loungers, 2 hot tubs, a bar tucked into a corner and restrooms near by. It is free.

$99 per person for the week. Its totally worth it if you value a nice place to relax, away from the kids and craziness of the main pool deck. On the Getaway, passes are sold at Guest Services, and if your not priority boarding (platinum or above, Haven, or special needs) you should plan on arriving at the port early (9:30) for the best chances of getting a low boarding group number...

How much does it cost? Is it worth it? Where do you purchase? Any help would be appreciated.

I believe it is $99 per person for a weekly pass.

Is it worth 'it"? Only you can decide that for yourself. We got a pass on out first Getaway cruise and have never gotten them again. The Vibe is nice and all but is more hype than anything else. There is precious little there that you cannot do elsewhere on the ship, especially the Getaway. We never had an issue finding recliners in either the full sun or in the shade depending on what we were looking for at the time. We now save the money we would have wasted on those passes and spend it better elsewhere on the ship.

On the Getaway this pass June, we secured our Vibe passes at guest services. We paid $99 per pass but I believe NCL increased the price to $129 a few weeks later. Would still be worth every penny to us as we love the Vibe.

Two in our party would like to get the Vibe passes if we can for a cruise in January on the Getaway. We are not Haven or Platinum. We have a casino promotion (booked through that casino number) and upgraded to deck 8 suites (really just larger room) with large balcony, so I don't think we'll be that high up in line for a super early boarding group. How soon should be get to the port to try to board? Do you think the 9:30 a.m. suggestion is good enough for an arrival time at the port in Miami? We are also traveling with my dad who has mobility issues, so I am concerned about him having a place to sit comfortably. Maybe we should come at two different times - thoughts? We have a party of five and two who would like to get Vibe pass.

Vibe pass interest is for usage of the hot tub there.

Get to the port between 9:00 and 9:30 at the latest. There are a few seats in the terminal outside of security (get the rent-a-cops to let you in the door to seat your father) to sit and wait for security to open. Being that early, there will not be any line for check-in. Grab your health questionnaire, but don't stop to fill it out. Take it to the counter and fill it out while you are being checked in. Have you passports in hand and credit card (if you did not pre-register your credit card). And hurry up the escalators to the main waiting area. There a are lots of comfy seats up there to wait until general boarding starts around 11:15-11:30. Be sat down near the boarding door.

Where are the other spots on the ship that have a comfortable chair, has shade and is quiet?

I'm just off the Getaway. Frankly, I didn't think there was that much shade, from what I could see by peeking over into it from the staircase on Deck 18. We decided not to go for the Vibe passes because we were in the Haven, but we ended up not going on the Haven sundeck, either. We did spend a lot of our time hanging out on the Waterfront outside the mojito bar. They have chairs that are comfy to sit in there. The only negative is it overlooks the lifeboats, so you're not really looking down into the water.

One data point only. Today, general boarding started at 11:18 am. At 11:50, there were still a dozen passes left at Guest Services.

Did you bite? Was it worth it ? Was it sold out?

Actually, the VIBE price is $209/pp.

I’m thinking they don’t sell out.  I was on the escape about 6 weeks ago.  And, the VIBE was nearly empty every time I went.  When I bought my pass, there were still passes available when the initial line to buy them had dissipated.

In fairness, we sailed on the Escape from NYC, and the first couple of days were “breezy”.  So, that may have kept people away.  But, by mid-cruise when the weather became warmer, I don’t think I ever saw more than 10 people in the VIBE, even on a sea day, mid-day, when it should have been the busiest.

I won’t buy VIBE passes again.  As others mentioned, there are too many other viable alternatives to the main pool area (Spice H20 with the water grotto, the WaterFront, etc).

I'm wondering if they priced themselves out of the game and that is why there were still passes left.  I did the Escape last April and rushed to get the Vibe pass for $99 but when I got there they were already sold out.  I was kind of glad as I really didn't want to pay that but I was going to if they were available.  Now for $209 there is NO way I would pay that and I'm thinking other people are thinking the same way as I do.  I'm wondering how they justify increasing it so much??

I think since they always sold out so quickly, NCL probably thought the VIBE was “underpriced”.  Doubling+ the price may have seem warranted.

Like you, I don’t see the value.  If I hadn’t had so much OBC, I would not have purchased VIBE passes once I found out about the price increase (which I didn’t know about until I was at the table buying the pass).  Lesson learned.  No more VIBE passes.

I had just as much fun (actually, a lot more fun) at Spice H20 and spent much more time there than in the VIBE.

I agree especially when traveling out of NYC in April..first 2 days are too cold to be in there...and the last day back, so half your time may be too cold to take advantage..i agree 209 is getting over the "reasonable" line...

Thanks for reporting back, I’m sure it will be helpful to others.

Even when Escape sailed out of warm Miami there was always one day, and usually two days, that Vibe was usable because of high winds. My wife and I thought it was a no-brainer to get Vibe passes a $99 or even $129 but no way at $209 each.

We are passing on Vibe for our November cruise as well. $209 per person is more than we wish to shell out. We can enjoy our balcony or any number of places to sit and read our Kindles and still have our adult beverages.

I am pretty sure we are passing on it also for the first time.  For us it would be $209 x 4 and we are also leaving out of New York in late May.
