Am I crazy for wanting to do no excursions?

I am going on the MSC Seaside (Western Carribean) ship in April and I am going there just to relax. I have the choice to go either at a beach at extra cost or relax on the ship and have all the free food and drinks. I find it would be wiser for me to stay on the ship all week then spend extra bucks just to go at a place which I will be doing the samething as on the ship with the only difference that there is sand and the food + drinks would cost more when I have it free on the ship. Am I crazy to want to just chill on the ship all week?

Nothing wrong with staying on the ship. We are doing the Western in April as well. We are taking a parasailing tour in Grand Cayman, doing the falls and bobsled in Jamaica, and doing the Xcaret Eco Park in Cozumel ...... All of which are different then staying on the ship all day for what it's worth ......

Not at all! I pick cruises based off of the ship as I have been to most of the islands in the Caribbean. At some ports I just get off to walk around the pier or the city if it is close. The ship is so quiet in port, especially the spa! The spa specials on port days are usually the best as well! Your cruise is all about YOU so do whatever YOU want, even if it is nothing!

We will be on the Seaside in April and plan on never getting off the ship! We've cruised the same ports for years and they are just lackluster and tired as far as we're concerned. We live in Florida, so most of what is offered is something we can do here or we've already done it. We are looking forward to staying onboard and enjoying the peace and quiet. We've done this for a few cruises now and love it.

Hey, it's your vacation ! Do as you please !

Port days are a great time to enjoy a less crowded ship !

Now the ship shops and the casino are normally closed on port days, but if you are not planning to go to these places then great !

Have a great time !

Nope, casino will be for nightime, during the day I just want sun, beer and food :')

We have been cruising for a long time. Once upon a time the islands were uncrowded and fun to visit. The Main Street on St. Thomas was a small stretch and the few stores on it were closed on Sundays unless a ship pulled in. All the islands were quaint and very enjoyable. Today the islands are packed and congested. We prefer to stay onboard since we have seen it, done it and been there.

Don’t feel like you are out of step if you want to stay onboard. On the contrary, you will be enjoying the ship and the facilities without the crowds. Relax and enjoy.
