change of internet benefit for diamond and diamond plus

Recommended Posts

This is where you are wrong. We cruise about 10 times a year - we stay in regular balconies. Rarely, if ever, do excursions, never do specialty dining, don't do the casino except for $20 each, don't buy pictures. The only thing we do is buy the beverage package as it is worth it for us. I would rather cruise a ton of time a year rather than spend money on an expensive suite or specialty dining and such.

[emoji849] And we cruise many times a year, sometimes in suites, sometimes in balcony, sometimes in JS. We buy the drink package, internet, specialty dining, and sometimes excursions.

Not quite sure how anyone can say your C&A status can categorize people into how much they spend onboard. Whether that be a lot or a little. Your amount of money has a lot more to do with that.

On Enchantment. We are both D+. In the stateroom on the C and A benefits - Internet benefit 2 days of free SURF. (2 - 24 consecutive hours from time of purchase). Or $38.98 off any internet package purchase. (The two days does not have to be 48 consecutive hours.)

It’s not all that hard to get to Diamond and D+ cruising in JS and above 4 or 6 times a year.

Do you hang out in the DL? Obviously you don’t need the free drinks like us.

Last on the Anthem a few weeks ago, we cruise pretty often and always purchase wifi. I seem to recall our D+ benefit as $45 and change credit towards packages.

Anyone else remember the 45?

Yes, when the single day pass prices was raised to $23, the D+ benefit went to $46.

Yes, many of those boilerplate letters have not been updated with current info which would have the discount at $46 (45.98). Though someone on Symphony just posted a letter and it listed the benefit at $54+ - not sure what's going on there.

Most ppl cruise once a year or less and in regular rooms.

And they are D+?

It would take 12 years on 7 night cruises to get too Diamond and another 14 years to get to D+. 26 years

Sounds about the right. Starting cruising 2004, just made diamond in February.

Once a year, occasionally a second short itinerary, most in standard balcony, a JS thrown in once or twice.

It probably takes majority longer because they do other vacations and other lines. Retired people who live near ports and cruise every 8 to 10 weeks on one line in a suite is probably a statiscal anomaly and not normal for most people

I have my 16th and 17th cruises with Royal coming up next weekend. Always have gotten the drink package since they were introduced! Well worth it. We are traveling with several friends on the 8 night Freedom, none of which are top tier, so we will probably not see the lounge all that often, if at all. I do plan on a few stops in the CL just to use the concierge for a few things we like.

When we hop on Jewel it might be a little different, as we are only in a JS and not traveling with anyone else. We will make a short appearance in the DL if it’s not over crowded. Maybe 730 until dinner.

Our last cruise was in December and Wisconsin winter is brutally long. We’ve had snow 3 of the last 4 days up here in Green Bay. Bring on next week already!! Flying down thrs.

Yes. We board Harmony tomorrow. Cold front came in. Dropped into the 70’s.

I think that is very true and a luxury the vast majority of cruisers don't have.

"Update on the Internet rumors. I have a friend who left on a Transatlantic on the 5th I’d April. Her first message was she still had the 48 hours of internet. Today I got a note that said there had been a glitch in the system and the new rules didn’t get applied but they should have been percentages! She added no more nicer amenities like lotion or nicer toiletries, either. "

This was just posted in the Grandeur 4/14 Roll Call thread.

The "nicer amenities" require 340+ points and, even then, are by request. Did she have the 340+ points and, if so, did she request the amenities from her cabin attendant?

Technically if you spent 12 years on a 7 night ship (or any royal ship for that matter) you would be pinnacle 6 times over and be known as super Milwaukee eight.

I just love quotes of quotes.

I responded to a person who cruised ONCE a year. These were the years required to reach D and D+ cruising once a year on a 7 night cruise.

Super M8. I like that. Thanks

I thought I saw in this thread how to maximize the D+ coupons for husband and wife. How does that work? I don't recall and can't find it

Use one coupon for days 2 and 3 and buy the remaining days package with coupon 2 on day 4 - virtually free internet on a 7 day sailing.

We do that. We use my coupons early on. Then on Thursday with 3 days left, the package to the end of the sailings is zero, using hubby’s coupon.
