Not sure why but the internet has been really bad since yesterday. I would have thought we would get a good signal now that we are in Japan. Luckily T-Mobile comes to the rescue with free unlimited international data.

 

I'm not sure if it is a local requirement but I just lost all the stations on the TV also.

 

On with the Blog-

 

A quick subway trip and we visited a chocolate factory. We were really surprised to see how popular chocolate is in the region with many chocolate and sweet shops. They were also celebrating the Fall Season with a nicely decorated garden and play area for the children.

In the late afternoon we visited another October Fest celebration with a wide variety of food and beverage.

We had a 30 minute time on our own to grab a light lunch. A rain shower cane along and we took refuge in a tent. Luckily it was only a short shower.

Got an e-mail from one of my private tours and she advised that Celebrity has cancelled Shimizu for 9/29 and they were processing a full refund.

 

I checked and the ship will be advising of the change at 5:30. We will be diverting to Yokohama and will be overnighting there instead.

I checked on the status of Trami this afternoon, and am not surprised. But given the wording of the announcement last night I wondered if we were being prepared for an itinerary change.

Hi,

I'm loving this thread! Great details and so helpful as we will be in your cabin on 10/13. Was the port cancelled because of weather or damage from previous storms?

Thank you for your kind words.

 

The port was cancelled due the predicted arrival of Typhoon Trami. I don't believe there has been any damage yet as the storm is not suppose to start hitting until Saturday (our time).

 

Many of the tours to Mt Fuji are going to be operated out of Yokohama instead (1 1/2 hour drive).

Friday

Slept in this morning and didn't awaken until 9:00. The seas were a little rough last night but we have calm seas and blue skies this morning.

 

We will be getting our morning briefing form "the voice from above" (as Captain Alex says daily) at 10:00.

We had our B2B meeting today at 1:00 pm. Large number of guests present, I heard about 250.

The process is pretty much the same as last.

They also again had a raffle and gave away meals at Tuscan, wine, 24 hour internet and free bags of laundry.

We had a meeting at 1:00 pm today for B2B passengers. There were approx 100 present. They gave out about 12 door prizes. We won a dinner for two at either Tuscan or Qsine. The also gave away bottles of wine, 48 hour internet packages and bags of free laundry.

 

I attached copies of the fliers and the 2 choices you have. If any questions just ask.
