Bwana Tom Posted September 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2018 We are intending to layover 2 or 3 nights at the end of our cruise in Barcelona. Anyone know of a good centrally located, moderately priced hotel that would be located near the port and airport with good access to the sights. We will likely be relying on taxis for any of our travels around town. Thanks!
ger_77 Posted September 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2018 We'll be back in Barcelona for our 3rd time before boarding a ship for a trans-Atlantic, and will again be staying at the Hotel Curious (pronounced koo-ree-oos). It is about a block off Las Ramblas, just a short taxi ride from the port, about a 25E ride to the airport, and it's a great little hotel. The only thing I would suggest is that you bring along ear plugs; the sound from the street carries upward to the windows, and can be surprisingly loud in the middle of the night. Other than that, they have a great breakfast every morning, and some of the nicest front desk people you'll ever meet. We brought our adult family with us the last time we stayed there, and they shared my sentiments exactly; they loved the hotel, the location, the people. You could also check on the Spain ports board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=596 Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

celebrity Posted September 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2018 Hotel Jazz, right off Las Ramblas. Clean, modern hotel with great rooftop bar and pool. Have stayed there 3x.
devolve Posted September 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2018 Jazz or Barcellona Catedral, both good.
crystalspin Posted September 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 10, 2018 We are staying at Hotel Gaudí off Las Ramblas -- have not been there before, but love the view from the roof terrace overlooking Palau Güell's chimney towers! It is not possible to be close to both the port and the airport. We believe we can walk to Hotel Gaudí with our carry-on-only bags; will have the HG desk call for a taxi to the airport. lamchops Posted September 10, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 10, 2018 We stayed at the Silken Las Ramblas on our last visit to Barcelona. It’s rated as a4star hotel but was priced at 90€ last March. It just off Las Ramblas but is central to getting from the port to the airport. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from up Las Ramblas from the Columbus monument where the port shuttle pickup and drop off. I think it was a $20€ cab from dockside. It’s also a 5 minute walk to Plaza Cataluna to catch the airport shuttle.

gubby Posted September 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 11, 2018 The Trypp chain has a few hotels in Barcelona. We have used them many times and they are excellent.
COcruise Posted September 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I believe we stayed in hotel Europark several years ago. We loved it. Clean and trendy, room was a little small but we were there much. Great location to walk all over.
PoppyandNana Posted September 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 11, 2018 We are staying at the Gran Hotel La Florida. Good rates, beautiful rooms, amazing lobby. Check out Trip Advisor - almost all outstanding reviews.
Aquahound Posted September 11, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Hotel Jazz always seems to get a lot of recommendations. Some friends of mine stayed there and loved it. I stayed at the Eurostars Grand Marina and hated it. I recommend avoiding that hotel.
calliopecruiser Posted September 11, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I stayed at Hotel 1898 and loved it. Very good location, and there's a rooftop patio and bar where you can relax (with some sangria?) after a long day of sightseeing.
in2up2 Posted September 12, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 12, 2018 Jazz or Barcellona Catedral, both good. I stayed at the Hotel Barcelona Catedral for six nights while at a conference. Location was fantastic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
