Are $50 gift cards sold anywhere?

If you do find a Carnival gift card in a store that starts at less than $100 and try to load less than $100, the register will likely not allow money to be loaded onto that card.  I remember reading on CC and a few other sites about people running into errors at the register when trying to put less than $100 on these cards after the new minimum went into effect.

I am looking to buy a $50 gift card to Carnival; however, the ones I can find here (and online) start at $100 minimum. (Christmas swap is $50 max)  Has anyone seen CCL gift cards for sale for increments under $100?

I just saw them on the gift card display at my local grocery store!

We've not seen any in the stores we go to. At least, not within the last couple of years. Like so many others, we're hoping Carnival brings them back. Not just for us to purchase, but for Christmas gift exchanges, like you mentioned.

We have the same problem.  We have never seen any in all of the stores that people say they have seen them...Home Depot, Lowes, Meijer, etc.

I was one of the people that saw Carnival gift cards in a store. I live in the Buffalo, NY area, and the store was Tops Market. I don’t believe it had a designated dollar amount on it, rather you had to load the amount you want on it.

I'm pretty certain I've seen the "pick a denomination" Carnival gift cards in our local Albertson's.

My local Albertsons stores only have $100 - $500 variable load cards.  I saw the $25 - $500(?) variable load cards at least twice at Winn Dixie, but you still would have had to load at least $100.  I have read on a few sites that people weren't able to load less than $100 on these cards after the new minimum went into effect.

Thanks everyone. Now I know not to burn time and gas running around trying to find something that no longer exists. I guess I will have to go with a vanilla visa gift card with a note to save it for their cruise. I appreciate the help!

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express gift cards have activation fees.  You would be paying to give them money.

Carnival Cruise Cash is the answer for amounts less than $100 - you should be able to purchase $25 increments.  Cruise Cash is essentially non-refundable on board credit (which technically can be "refunded" if used at the casino).  There is general, Bar Cash, and Photo Cash.  General can be used for any on board expense, while bar and photo can only be used in their respective departments.

I've never used it, but assume it is linked to a specific cruise (since non-refundable).  I'd ask if it is refundable if the cruise is canceled (like Cheers would be, even though Cheers is also sold as non-refundable).
