More Pics.... Less Words

Pictures of our tiny (and messy) standard inside cabin on the Riviera Deck (yes, I still have my boarding pass from this cruise).  Also, a picture of how the nightly turn-down service was performed back then.

For those not familiar, it was fairly common for the cabin steward to take the female's nightgown and lay it out for her...along with the rose.  Some nights, the gown for fashioned into a flower...I guess a forerunner of today's towel animals.

Note the deck of cards also left behind...I guess that was in case the nightgown stayed on that night. 🙂

My personal, and by today's standards, wildly inappropriate, favorite...the men's nightgown contest.

I looked at that picture before I read the text and thought “that girl looks like a dude.”

Lastly, a picture of me and my wife back in the day.  At the time, we were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.  At the time of this writing, we'll celebrate 40 years in August.

Yes, that's better.  Unfortunately, all of these pictures are scans of the original 35mm photos...who are, in some cases, worse for the 35 years of wear!

I've seen far worse color shifting in 30-40 yrs. particularly among Ektachromes.

Kodachromes? not so much.

I have a few more of the Carnivale that I took when she made a rare visit to Charleston, SC, back around 1985-6.  I'll see if I can round those up.
