Krazy Kruizers Posted March 23, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2019 For the early birds who like to watch the ships sail in, the Nieuw Statendam is scheduled to arrive in Ft Lauderdale at about 5:30 AM. I read on another thread that the Nieuw Statendam thinks they have the problem solved with the engines. Don't know how true this is. So there is no telling when she may arrive. wdw1972 Posted March 24, 2019 #23 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Hope Nieuw Statendam is able to get out on time. A friend on board this past week texted me to say they were still having power issues this morning, and although she was in the 8am debarkation window, it was 10:30 before she was able to leave the ship. She mentioned many of the arriving passengers lined up outside - so it sounds like a bit of a messy day for them in Port Everglades today. wdw1972 Posted March 24, 2019 #25 Share Posted March 24, 2019 Yes - I'm hoping they just needed a part or parts to be brought onboard to fix the problem for good, and the next cruise will sail as scheduled. It's a shame for the passengers waiting to board - I know I'd feel cheated out of cruise time if I didn't get to board at 11:30! HAL has spoiled me <g>. Time is dragging...14 days until I board the Rotterdam, and the next Nieuw Statendam (for me) isn't until December 2020!! I'll need to check your thread to see if I ever added that one 😉 Sue/WDW1972
