Mostly as a joke. It's an old superstition that if there are accidents when a ship is under construction, than it must be cursed.

I was trying to beat the typical CC posters that over-react to the slightest whiff of bad news to the punch.

ok.

for a while Anthem was cursed.  First that very bad storm in 2016 and then I think later in year or next, they had a drowning in the pool during the daytime.   Then folks complained about dynamic dining and so that was changed too.

I'm thinking of booking a family surfside view cabin. Any suggestions to best location of cabin to take for view?  The very back to get a glimpse of water?  I know on the oasis class some boardwalk balcony views were obstructed with water slides.

Thanks  🙂

No Ultimate Abyss to block the views, so that's something to note. From renderings, it appears the balconies aren't the curved ones that Oasis class has, so don't know if that will have an impact on many cabins have views. There are suites on the aft corner, so who knows how that affects things.

We booked a Surfside balcony and went with the second from aft in hopes of having a view, but no expectation of having much (the aft-most balcony has the grey crew space next to it, so we passed on that).

They did a flythrough video of the ship that allows you to drag the view around 360 degrees. You can pause it and rotate the view when its near the cabins. It goes up the middle of surfside around 5 minutes in. It's not perfect but will give you a ballpark idea what the views will be.

Do we know what company is supplying the water slides and other bits on the top deck?

Good question, and thanks for reminding me that I was looking into who may be responsible for the Crown's Edge. I got distracted by Icon 2. 😄

I believe that Walltopia, in Sofia, Bulgaria, is the company responsible for the Crown's Edge (and the rock wall?) on the Icon-class ships.
