Harmony Aug 4, 2019 - We're not on Empress anymore.

Ooops, we need to back up 5 hours.  How could I forget my Birthday massage.

Probably because there are no pictures. 😉

 

Anyway, I almost always get a massage onboard.  I know it's expensive, but I don't care.  I save elsewhere.

Laura booked me the 75 minute Swedish for 3pm today.  I've always done 55, but did the 75 on Empress and loved it.

Headed down to the spa, checked in, rode the elevator to 5 and waited on my masseuse, Jean.

When we were on Oasis, I always got Wanpen, but this is Harmony and I need to find a new masseuse.

So while I'm waiting I hear a familiar voice, but I don't see who it is.  Could that be Wanpen? So now I'm in panic mode, am I getting ready to cheat on my long term girlfriend. 😱

 

Two minuted later, guess who walks into the room excited to see me. Wanpen. 😁

Apparently, she didn't want to go to Europe, so she came over to Harmony after Oasis left. 

I told her Laura booked the appointment and didn't realize she was on the ship. 

Anyway, it was all good and now I need to book another massage later in the week. Rough life, huh. 

 

So Jean then comes and gets me, I tell her the story and tell her she has big shoes to fill.  She says no problem.

She did a fabulous job, I think I fell asleep. She took that as a sign she did a good job.

She also didn't try and sell me anything.  I like that.  

 

I also got a $50 spa voucher for telling the Spa Manager she is the most important person on the ship. 

I'l use that later in the week.

 

Here is the spa menu. Today's massage utilized my 20% Pinnacle discount, so it ended up just under $200 with my added tip.

Loving the review, really want to do this itinerary. On Mariner out of PC in October as our first cruise as a couple, his first cruise period, and my first cruise where I can go to the big kid bars instead of Adventure Ocean. 😉

I bet Bella's not spoiled at all??  I'm guilty of giving our dogs treats without them even earning them. I'm a sucker every time they look at me with that face that says, "I need this daddy".

I have four cats and I'm guilty of the same. I get home and the fat grey one immediately starts begging. Husband usually pipes up, "don't listen to him, he's had treats already!"

I feed our cat, change his litter box and he still will not give me the time of day. It took several years before he would even let me pet him. He will lay on my wife and my son but has no interest in me. The cat next door likes me better than my cat.

😂 My black cat is that way. His favorite person is my brother but even that's touch and go. Rocky (fat grey tabby from above) prefers my husband, but will throw him over in a heartbeat for my brother. His tiny live-in sister Spoons (brown and black tabby) only likes me but only sometimes. She prefers the bedroom windowsill to people. Oatmeal (orange chonk of a cat) is my baby boy, and Tenny (the infernal hellbeast demon) is an infernal hellbeast demon from the void that likes no one.

OK, back to my Bday dinner in Izumi.

Teppanyaki - Laura got Samurai, I got Izumi.  You are allowed to create whatever two protein combo you wish

 

Edamame is included

 

So is the ginger salad. Both were very good

Strawberry and Sake drink. a gift from our waitress, Hershey.  She used to be up in CK last year

 

You can also see our dipping sauces. I don't recall the one on the left. The center was sweet chili, and the right is teriyaki

There were 9 of us at the grill/table. Two families from England (Carl, his wife, their daughter and Jack) and Wales (Mickey, Nicola, and their son Owen). I have no idea why I can't remember Carl's wife and daughters names.  They were a lot of fun, I think they were in a CLS. Saw them at breakfast in CK several times. They had the UDP, and were enjoying it.

 

OK, so the egg snake gets cut up into cubes and the chef flicks them into your mouth. 

 

At least that's the idea. 😉

With the exception of Mickey, the Brits all did very good. Got it on the first try.

Fried rice is finished, time for the meats

 

I was a little late taking a picture.  I also have half of Laura's meat.  She doesn't eat much. I about burst.

 

It was all very good. I used the sweet chili sauce on all the seafood and teriyaki on the filet

 

Cheesecake for dessert. All 3 tables sang, it was fun

 

Oops, I may have started eating this as well. 

Overall, a very nice birthday celebration.

Back to pre cruise weight. Should probably drop a couple more before Sunday. Amazing what happens when you dont drink every day.
