cruisingcasual Posted January 19, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2020 We have cruised on HAL and are looking at a Spring Break Carnival cruise. Does status we've earned on HAL transfer to Carnival? I know that RCI and Celebrity recognize each other, wondering how the Carnival companies do it. Did some searching, but didn't find a clear answer. Thanks! Joe817 Posted January 19, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2020 That might require a call to Carnivall HQ to make that determination.

Moviela Posted January 19, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2020 Carnival Corporation operates a collection cruise lines under different titles to capture a larger share of the cruise passenger market. The different lines appeal to different types of travellers by economic, demographic, regional, and cultural expectations of the passengers. The lines have separate administrations to operate their brands. They do take direction from the corporation with regards to safety and financials designed to take advantage of economies of scale in the purchase of fuel and provisions. As you can imagine the corporation is happy to attract passengers from competitors, but does not want to take passengers from within their own lines of business. The loyalty programs are designed to attract and adhere passengers to one brand. This why you will not see loyalty rewards transferable from one line to another.
PhillyFan33579 Posted January 19, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2020 No call is required. The last two responses, one short and to the point and one longer one with a good explanation, answered your question correctly, which is no, status does not transfer between cruiselines under the Carnival Corporation. if you use the search function on this site, there have been good discussions on this topic in the past. pcvtmom Posted January 19, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 19, 2020 Sadly, status does not transfer. It is one thing many of us consistently ask for, but Carnival has not decided to comply with our wishes. It could be to their advantage, because many of us have Platinum or Diamond status with Carnival, and would possibly be willing to try their more exclusive (read EXPENSIVE) brands, if we were given our status across their brands. I disagree with the comment on whether they want to have clients move from one line to another and why the loyalty rewards are different. In fact, they tried to assimilate them together and failed. That said, each of the 9 cruise lines operations under the Corp umbrella act independent and they do try and offer a breadth to cruising consumers.
