Cigars On Celebrity

No Celebrity ship has a cigar lounge, and there is no smoking anywhere indoors on Celebrity including the casino and in your stateroom. There is also no smoking on your balcony. Each ship has one outdoor area designated for cigars. It will all be spelled exactly where that designated area will be  on the first day in the daily program.

Almost always near the Sky Bar at the stern of the ship.

We have been on every Celebrity "S" class ship and they have a Cigar smoking area next to the Sunset Bar on deck 15 aft portside. I think it is the same on the "M" class but I have only been on a couple of those so I am not 100% sure. As for the Edge class I can't remember smoking a Cigar on that cruise. 🤔

Never been on Celebrity line.  Do they have cigar lounges?  Going on the new Apex ship next year they also have a sister ship out, does anyone know where you can have a cigar on that ship?

thanks

Celebrity Summit use to have a cigar lounge many years ago. It is now where the retreat (formally Michael’s Club) is at now. They redid the place and it’s now a place for suite guests and Captain Club members that are Zenith.

I was on the Summit in January and the only place to smoke a cigar was near the mast bar. They have chairs and tables near the bar. I was able to buy a cigar at the bar below. They have a nice selection in a humidor on the bar top. I paid $15.00 for the one I smoked and it wasn’t bad.

I think the good old days of a cigar lounge are just about gone on cruise ships.

Edge has a few nice areas.

DH likes the one, a level up from the burger lunch place.

Covered with shade, nice breeze and great view off to the side!

Access to food and sodas

Not on M-Class anymore.  There are cabins with open balconies just below the Sunset bar (Oceanview bar) area on M-Class ships.

Royal Caribbean introduced the Voyager class and Freedom class ships with an indoor cigar lounge near the front of the ship near the lounge on deck 5.  Several years ago it was renovated to become the library or the Diamond Lounge depending on the ship.

Currently the only RC ship left that still has the connoisseur lounge (cigar lounge) is the Liberty. But that goes away after dry dock (Amped) this year. We did a B2B on the Freedom March 2019 before she was amped. Connoisseur Lounge was still there and we heard one night in the Diamond Lounge a couple of guys (assuming they were cigar smokers) complaining about how those that were vaping and smoking cigarettes weren't suppose to be in there as it was a dedicated cigar lounge. I walked in the Connoisseur Lounge on TAD and was surprised how nice it was. Reminded me of Celebrity's old Michales Club.

It is a shame that the cigar lounges are being removed from the RCCL ships.  They were very nice.  There was a bar in there and a dedicated bar person/waiter.  I was on a cruise once where the captain held a question and answer session.  I asked him if it was true they were removing the cigar lounges.  He said yes, the cruise line felt that they weren't generating enough revenue.  Okay, that was what I expected to hear.  What did they replace some of the lounges with:  card rooms!  They replaced low revenue producing areas with non-revenue producing areas!  At least with Celebrity I know there is no lounge.  If you want a nice lounge I would suggest Princess,. Norwegian, or Cunard.

Every evening on a cruise I like to have a cognac and a nice cigar.  That's what they did on Titanic.  We all know how that turned out!

Elvis- you can get a cognac and enjoy your cigar in a designated smoking area outside.  There will be others there doing the same thing.  Good way to make friends!

There are no cigar lounges on Apex and I don't think they sell cigars either.  There are 3 smoking sections on E-class ships.  Port side aft on deck 5 near Eden, starboard side near sunset bar deck 15, and starboard side deck 15 near pool bar/mast grill.

Oasis and Allure have the best area to light up a stick. Port side pool deck has areas sectioned off that are protected from the elements for smoking. You might have to fight off the cigarette smokers during the day but I don't know if there's that many at night. Definitely miss the lounges.

The aft starboard area is actually very nice (at least it was on the Edge). If you have to be outside, I much prefer to be aft. And you’re only 20-30ft away from the sunset bar. Not a cigar lounge, unfortunately, but better than most other options.

Just off Equinox 5/29.  Enjoyed many a bourbon and cigars at the Sunset bar in the evening.  In fact they sold cigars at the bar (Gurkha).  Of course bring your own cutter and torch as they don’t have much in that regard.  The Ship liquor store also had cigars for sale - mostly Arturo Fuente.

It was pretty much the same on Reflection back in February.  I no longer smoke, but it was rather unusual NOT to see someone enjoying a cigar on the port side of the Sunset bar or the bocce court also right there.  If I recall, there were a few different Gurkhas available at the Sunset Bar.  I don't recall what was in the liquor store, but they cigars in there.

Well, the truth is that the lounges were getting to be negative revenue spaces.  Fewer passengers were using them, and even fewer were spending any money in there.  Folks were bringing their own cigars and just utilizing drink packages.  Add to that the fact that you couldn't do a whole lot more with that space for the rest of the day because folks didn't want to go in there because of the odor (that might cling to you after you left).  A card room might generate zero revenue, but it also has essentially zero maintenance, and it comes with a good deal more flexibility.
