Polly1922 Posted March 6, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2020 (edited) Which RCI ship would you recommend for us as a couple for the Caribbean who like to visit every Port? Thank You Edited March 6, 2020 by Polly1922
rhuntington3 Posted March 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2020 Freedom of the Seas from San Juan has a very port intensive itinerary.https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/freedom-of-the-seashttps://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/itinerary/7-night-southern-caribbean-from-san-juan-on-freedom/FR07SJU-676154?sail-date=2020-11-22¤cy=USD 4

Rare Sea Dog Posted March 6, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2020 We are on Freedom this October for a Southern Caribbean route that includes, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Maarten. That's 6 ports on a 7 day cruise. 4

jakeil7 Posted March 6, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2020 I have done this trip before on a different ship. You will really like it!
George C Posted March 6, 2020 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2020 Agree on San Juan , freedom class or voyager class are both great.
LeeW Posted March 6, 2020 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2020 And the sailings from San Juan usually alternate between eastern islands and southern islands. Do a B2B to get both.
Ocean Boy Posted March 6, 2020 #10 Share Posted March 6, 2020 Definitely Freedom. It is an awesome ship with great itineraries. Flights to San Juan can sometimes be expensive and inconvenient though depending upon where you live.
not-enough-cruising Posted March 6, 2020 #11 Share Posted March 6, 2020 Have embarked from San Juan on 3 different occasions (Freedom twice, Adventure once) these are some of our fondest cruise memories.
PhoenixCruiser Posted March 6, 2020 #12 Share Posted March 6, 2020 We have taken four Southern Caribbean cruises out of San Juan and like others, highly recommend.
lowbass Posted March 6, 2020 #13 Share Posted March 6, 2020 We did these same ports on a Carnival cruise and loved it! There's nothing like waking up every morning and going out on your balcony and watching the ship dock in a different port.

palmettostatecruiser Posted March 6, 2020 #16 Share Posted March 6, 2020 I agree with previous posters on the Freedom out of San Juan. We're sailing her in June and can't wait - she's our favorite RC ship and that was before her amplification

mickeygirl78 Posted March 7, 2020 #19 Share Posted March 7, 2020 We are doing a back to back on the Freedom in October. I can’t believe all the amazing islands we will visit. If you like islands, Freedom is the best choice.

Miami or Port Canaveral (Orlando) is much easier for us flying from the UK with daily flights but there are far fewer islands on itineraries from there than San Juan. LeeW Posted March 8, 2020 #21 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Just got an email advertising that Freedom will be doing cruises with ZERO sea days. Reminds me of when we booked four snorkeling excursions in a row on an Eastern trip.
Ocean Boy Posted March 8, 2020 #22 Share Posted March 8, 2020 I received the zero sea day e-mail also. I'm not sure that I would actually like that.
bonsai3s Posted March 9, 2020 #23 Share Posted March 9, 2020 Yes, mostly definitely the Freedom. We recently sailed her (just before drydock) for 6 marvelous weeks. Starting a cruise in San Juan, Puerto Rico is also special.
chellebell91987 Posted March 11, 2020 #24 Share Posted March 11, 2020 We are booked on the freedom with no sea days. I am excited I don't care for sea days! We have been to all of the islands before so we can take it easier than normal.
rcprncss Posted March 11, 2020 #25 Share Posted March 11, 2020 Wow! No sea days? When does this start? I will try and do a search.
