Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

My screen name...kind of obvious...but really doesn't apply to me any longer.

When I first joined CC in 2003, I was still living on Merritt Island.  Hence the name,..... being an "islander".  Then I moved out here to "the swamp" in 2015.

Could change it, but I am not sure anyone would know me as "Swamp Lady".  🤭

Now I've got the song, "She's a Lady " by Tom Jones stuck in my mind.

If I were to change my screen name, others here wouldn't know who they were talking with at first and then when they realized it was me they would have to go back and add my new screen name to their ignore list.  😁

That's ok John, it could be worse.

Sleepy

Sneezy

Bashful

Grumpy

Happy

Dopey

Who am I missing 🤔

BTW, 344 CC members have some form of Grump in their screen name

I made Laura into LaLa 3 years before she embraced it as her grandmother name.

It was the nickname of her namesake aunt.

My grandfather name is Grumpy. Go figure.

Well...Laura takes after her aunt for sure...but I have never seen you as "Grumpy" though.  😉

I like that she used LaLa on her pin as well.  🤗

Thank you vettprincess.

We were due to sail from Barbados around the Caribbean then Transatlantic back to Southampton on Azura in March 2020 but it was cancelled 5 days before we flew out to Barbados due to covid19.

Graham.

Loved the ship picture...but I am guessing you were torturing yourself having them "sooo close...but sooo far away".

Sigh...I feel the same way when we see the cruise ships come in and out for supplies here in PC.  And also to see them floating around just off shore.  🥺

Her original pin has Lala Durland. LA on Oasis ordered it that way.

I requested a replacement because she kept misplacing it. I told them to make sure it says LaLa instead of Laura. 😇

So it came as just LaLa. No last name. Like Cher.😉🤣🤣

This port is 15 minutes drive from home.

Southampton the main UK departure port is 330 miles drive.

LOL... I would never have to put you, my friend, on ignore.  😉  Actually only had to put two members on that since I joined in 2003.  One of them, I took off ignore shortly after...he has been quite a bit tamer since then.  🤭  The other one...I can't even remember.

Tom Jones eh?  Saw him in concert one time.  I still like when he sings Joe Cocker's song  "You can leave your hat on"...and of course loved the movie that brought that old song of his of mothballs with him singing it.  😄  Of course he looks quite a bit older now.  😉

If...and a big If...we can ever get on a ship again...that's when we order ours.  Bucky wants his to just say "Bucky"...so I guess that is possible then?

Yep, wish I would have thought of it first. I ride a 2006 HD so I guess I could use Twin Cam 88.

Nah...I like the "davekathy" better.  😉

Indeed Port Canaveral is 20 minutes away from us, but used to be 3 miles when we lived for 20 years on Merritt Island.  Could even hear the ship's horns at sail away at the old house.  Made me wish I was on the ship when we heard that.  😉

Laura sailed into Southampton once, and out of Dover once

We have sailed out and back into Southampton many times.

We have sailed out and in to  Dover once in October 2007 on Norwegian Gems maiden voyage.

Dover is mainly a ferry port.

Laura sailed NCL Sun from Dover. TA back to PC. She hated it.

We sailed Gem from Barcelona on her maiden TA to the US. But that was in December. They were still working on it.🤣🤣
