@rkacruiser I book thru MSC casino and I spoke w my casino rep on the phone after the cancellation. When they were told of the announcement, they were also told that MSC has no plans of sailing from NYC in 2020 or 2021. I have a 30% casino voucher that he allowed me to move until dec 31 2021 Incase things change but more than likely that is wasted.

Thanks for providing your information.

Armonia, or similar size ship, would be realistic for Baltimore, and the Chesapeake access.

Good to know that Armonia would "fit".  Other than a regular week-end schedule that Carnival and RCI have seemed to have "blocked" in recent years, such sailings would be appreciated.

Armonia is still scheduled for the Port of Tampa in the near future--if such happens.  It's probably a dream for those of use who live near the vicinity of the Ports of Baltimore and Norfolk to truly see any major cruise ship deployments in those ports.

Both of the March 26th and the April 2nd Divina itineraries still appear bookable on the MSC US website even though the cancellation page states March 28th through August 22 are cancelled.  I tried calling in to book and was not allowed to book any Divina sailing March 5th or after.  So far no one has reported getting a cancellation letter from the earlier March sailings.  I suppose it's possible they are just limiting capacity and accepting no new bookings.

I don't think MSC is done with NYC in the long term, but for 2021 NYC is a wild card. The leaders there are not going to welcome cruise ships anytime soon and will likely be one of the last to open up to cruises. Rumor has it that Hawaii is staying closed to cruising through fall of 2021 also and then you have tiny Seachelles opening in Jan 2022!

I do expect that MSC will end up back in NYC eventually. It's a lucrative market. I also expect changes to the new itineraries coming out. For example, MSC pulled all ships from NYC for fall of 2021, but what if by spring of 2021 things start looking spectacular. Would NOT surprise me one bit to see itinerary changes right up to a few months before sailing through 2021. Lots of flexibility is going to be needed for the industry to realign.

I'm just sitting here waiting for the last minute deals to start rolling in........because they are most certainly coming.

MSC-if you are reading.........

Oh how I would love MSC to have a ship in NYC for winter sailings 2021 or 2022. I'll patiently wait.

Us northeastern folks would be happy to fill those NYC ships up to get us out of the cold weather. Food for thought MSC..........😀

Oh- one more thing. Thrilled Divina is doing short cruises now out of PC. I'm a fan of 4 and 5 day cruises so bring them on MSC!! You can either B2B them or spend some time near port for a few days!!

Really hoping to book one of the seven night sailings on Divina from Port Canaveral. I'll be watching very closely for bookings to open! More than likely the itinerary won't be particularly memorable but its all good.

Looking at your signature listing your cruise history, your statement about "the itinerary won't be particularly memorable" is without a doubt correct.

"But, its all good."  One is on ship enjoying being at sea.  That's what has become most important for me than nearly any ports that might be visited.

he itineraries will be 3 and 4 night Bahamas cruises including Ocean cay, and the 7 night should be as they were before Covid-19.

I hope they're the same. We were booked on a sweet itinerary that had Roatan, Belize, Costa Maya and Ocean Cay. I'd very like to have that one back

Ocean Cay was worth the effort to get off the ship.  The others:  if one has been there before, in my opinion, don't bother.  Enjoy the facilities of the ship.

Those are all new ones for us but it's good information to know. I'm just afraid I'll end up with the usual Nassau stop out of Port Canaveral

Or Freeport!  Once/twice:  it's enough as you know.

Ocean Cay is a work in progress and given the situation that the industry has experienced, I hope that MSC will continue to work and improve Ocean Cay.  It has the potential to make all of the other cruise line private islands to be put to shame.

Does anyone know or have a hunch at what may happen with the Repositioning of Divina in January? I'm booked to sail the 23 nighter from the 06/01/21 but can see that has been removed from the booking engine. Obviously the ship has to sail to the US at some point so might the trip still go ahead at that particular time, just with a possible itinerary change?

When arriving on the 29/01/21, I was hoping to book another cruise from Miami for a week, as such my flight home from Miami I Isn't until the 06/20/21. But the arrival port being moved to Cape Canaveral wouldn't be a major issue. However its not due to sail from CC until march. Where is it likely to be during the whole of Feb?

Unfortunately at my age, I d never figure that spelling out or the pronunciation out.

The Crew all week said DE Venia.  So, thats how I got the DE.

BUT live and learn.

Divina

it is pronounced like how they said it. Divina is pronounced like Divine. Meraviglia is pronounced Meddaveeia, and MSC really is pronounced M Essa Chi

when sailing in the the Caribbean,  pronounciation tends to be Americanized

Yes, it is. I'd used the Italian pronunciation with the "i" sounding like "eee."  Having been on the Meraviglia for 3 weeks, I'd always thought I heard the rolled "r". I guess we hear what we expect. Still living; still learning.

Nice to read the Devina will sail out of Port Canaveral next year.  Miami is crowded and traffic is unbearable at times.  Flying into Orlando or Melbourne Airports will be much more convenient.

I'm excited about this as well.  I've always wanted to sail on this ship, and have very fond memories of sailing out of Port Canaveral.  I think our last cruise from PC was in 2012.

The last time we sailed out of PC was circa 1995 on Premier Cruise Lines, Star Ship Royale.  We flew into Melbourne and took a shuttle to PC.  It was a seamless embarkation. I bet parking is much less ($22 per day in MIA) than MIA Port Parking.

My TA is on notice to book us a few b2b YC suites as soon as the schedule comes out on the Divina.   Unfortunately, there probably will not be consecutive 7 day b2b cruises.  So, we will do some shorter ones and hope EACH one goes to their new spectacular Caribbean private Island.   Soon, hopefully things will get back to normal.
