Bin man Posted July 23, 2020 #226 Share Posted July 23, 2020 Should have called her Oceana queen of the oceans .Could have had an extra coat of white paint to cover the red white and blue design as well as the rust

I guess it's fitting that the 'Princess' has finally become the 'Queen'. 5 minutes ago, wowzz said: I think you have the wrong ship. Oceana was launched in 2002, and has always been a P&O ship. She was the Ocean Princess from 2000 until she was transferred to P&O in '02.
Adawn47 Posted July 23, 2020 #228 Share Posted July 23, 2020 What surprised me was her being built in Italy. Avril

No, actually I've got it right. Here's a brief history. 2000–2002: Ocean Princess[edit] Oceana was originally ordered by P&O to serve in the Princess Cruises fleet. She was named by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal and entered service as Ocean Princess on 16 February 2000. During the winter season, Ocean Princess was positioned in the southern Caribbean, while in summer she operated in Alaskan waters. Shortly after her launch, P&O demerged its cruise ship operations and Ocean Princess came under the ownership of P&O Princess Cruises, whilst continuing to serve in the Princess Cruises fleet.

No wowzz she was launched as Ocean Princess, sailing in the Princess fleet. Late as usual with my post. I keep calling the Aurora (currently in the P&O fleet) the Adonia (now Sea Princess - sister to Oceana/QotS). Not to be confused with the second P&O Adonia that is now Azamara Pursuit. drsel Posted July 23, 2020 #236 Share Posted July 23, 2020 My deposit on P&O Oceana went to the US TA instead of the cruise line. TA said that in case of P&O, this is how they must operate, because the payment to P&O has to be made in pounds whereas the TA accepts deposits only in US dollars and transfers the money to P&O in pounds.TA said that for all other Cruise lines, the deposit goes directly to the cruise line in US dollars. now that all the cruises on Oceana are cancelled, the TA says that they have to wait 60 to 90 days to get the money back from P&O and only then they will refund my credit card. should I raise a dispute on my credit card? Will I get the money back faster? Will I get the money back faster? That depends on your credit card company - in the UK Amex has refunded my daughter very rapidly. Other UK bank customers are reporting long delays on chargebacks/S75s (or whatever you call them in the US).🙂
drsel Posted July 23, 2020 #238 Share Posted July 23, 2020 I had dispute many years back on a genuine fraud, where my credit card details were stolen(not related to cruising) and the charge back took three months I think since this is not the case of fraud, but only a delayed refund, I don't think the credit card bank will even entertain the complaint.
