Yes, you mentioned  you were getting everything for free on the posts relating to people collecting unemployment and not willing to take on a job because they were making more being unemployed.

I was sincerely hoping people were not taking unemployment checks, stimulus money, food stamps, etc. and using those funds to take a cruise. If you are currently unemployed, I hope you are able to take that next job that comes your way 😉

I see that you and a few others would love to Cancel me too.

par·o·dy
/ˈperədē/
noun
1. an imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect.

BTW, Why would I want to "cancel" you?  That nonsensical term is not even on my radar.  You have your opinion, I have mine.

It is worth noting that Tom Brady got a PPP "loan" of $960,000 for his TB12 nutrition company.  He and his wife are collectively worth in excess of $500 million dollars.  52% of PPP loan applicants were denied.

LOL, I am well aware, I am from New England, had a fantastic 20 years of watching him and 6 SB"s!!!  Had the pleasure of seeing him win one live in Atlanta with my son.  I still think he could of hit up his and Giselle's treasure chest before asking for a PPP.

ECCruise, I respectfully invite you to join me for my "buying" an AI libation along with TrulyBlonde (she gets two), Ipeeinthepool and Denny.  The guest list is getting larger but we can find a big table, wear our special masks with straws and have a fun time.  🍷🍷🍺🥂🥤😷

What state is that? Curious never heard of that here in Virginia !

When we WERE open to restaurants here in Ontario, during the last 'lift' we had the same .....90 min. for dining then the table was released.  Our golf club also....no more chit chatting with neighbouring member tables either.  Very strict.  We're down until at least May 20th.

That is right, I forgot.  Where I live only paper straws are now allowed so I have learned to drink my 32 oz iced coffee in 5 minutes before it disintegrates.  I do though plan to smuggle a bunch of the extra large plastic straws on board when I next cruise.

And you have read the primary source from the CDC?

https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/covid19-operations-manual-cso.html

Instead of a news release?

The language in the operations manual is certainly open to interpretation but doesn't say anything at all like what Del Rio is stating and you're quoting. And since none of the cruise lines have applied to cruise under the CSO, no one knows what's really going to be required. But I'm pretty confident it won't be the ridiculous exaggeration in Del Rio's statement. Maybe if he'd shut up and let his people who work with federal agencies on the VSP handle this, he'd actually be able to get a ship sailing from a US port.

Amen brother!

I believe our current 50% indoor restaurant capacity is being lifted on May 17?  I certainly hope so because me and my BF have rented a house in Provincetown for 5 weeks, starting next week, I just want to sit inside a restaurant and remember how awesome it feels and dare I say, sit at the damn bar!!!

Have they lifted both the 6-ft rule as well as the capacity limit?

Outdoors masks are no longer required/recommended, in restaurants I believe they are still suggesting tables be spaced 6 feet apart.

They submitted plans back in September.  Carnival Corp, RCG, and NCLH all submitted them as it put forth via CLIA.  This was all pre-vaccine.  Here's what they submitted:

  • Testing. 100% testing of passengers and crew prior to embarkation.
  • Mask-Wearing. Mandatory wearing of masks by all passengers and crew onboard and during excursions whenever physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Distancing. Physical distancing in terminals, on board ships, on private islands and during shore excursions.
  • Ventilation. Air management and ventilation strategies to increase fresh air onboard and, where feasible, using enhanced filters and other technologies to mitigate the risk of infection.
  • Medical Capability: Risk-based response plans tailored for each ship to manage medical needs, dedicated cabin capacity allocated for isolation and other operational measures, and advance arrangements with private providers for shoreside quarantine, medical facilities, and transportation.
  • Shore Excursions: Only permitting shore excursions according to the cruise operators’ prescribed protocols, with strict adherence required of all passengers and denial of re-boarding for any passengers that do not comply.

These bullet points do not qualify as a "plan".  They were put out by CLIA indicating what the cruise lines would include in their individual plans. NO cruise line submitted an actual plan to the CDC (and the Healthy Sail Panel "recommendations" don't count). The bullet points are borderline basic and lack any specifics or technical details as to how each of the items would even be carried out.

Meh.  FDR is perpetually "perplexed, flabbergasted and outraged".  First he wants technical instructions and guidance, then he gets it and he's not happy.  He wants vaccines to be incorporated into the restart.  They are and, again, he's not happy.  The cruise lines have known the basics of what is going to be required for months, they just weren't planning on the pandemic sticking around this long. They just want the CSO to go away.  It's not.  So now the ball is in their court.  Do something...anything...to demonstrate to your customers that you are getting cruising started.

He is. Moving off shore where CDC has no authority.

Don't kid yourself.  The cruise lines NEED to cruise out of the US.  It's their bread and butter.

I def agree but right now, they are working with a half loaf of bread and one stick of butter, so at this point, I am thinking any port in a storm applies

And 'cheer' someone not sitting across the dining table from me at home....always seems like a nicer glass of wine when paying for it in a restaurant...LOL.  🤑🥂

and to gossip about the couple two tables over, it is one thing to complain about my BF's cooking, I would much rather see said couple complaining about their food being to cold or undercooked

After further incredibly detailed review, and of course being a CC arm chair specialist on all things pandemic, I have concluded they have definitely, possibly, maybe increased capacity (they have) but are still requiring 6 feet distance between tables.  DO NOT ask me for definitive proof or to provide a link, as I may or may not do so.

Well...if it's 6 ft and you are, then after several quaffs and you "accidently lie down" on the barroom floor, then others will know it's a 6ft distance.
