Royal's ships 2023/24

Based on Royal operating 7 night cruises like Carnival and P&O from Brisbane. 3 ports is what I want.
I will believe it when Royal are here for Winter. They will not get the money they will make on Alaska or Mediterranean from Brisbane.

Keeping Enchantment here appears the best option for 2024.

Some of the winter cruises would be Qld coastals - Airlie, Cairns and probably Townsville (channel widening scheduled to be completed next year).  Perhaps less interesting for us Queenslanders, but it opens up good B2B options.

It looks like there’s 5 Royal Caribbean ships in the eastern Pacific next year passing through Hawaii.

Hawaii ports has Enchantment, Quantam and Ovation on their way to Australia in early October 2023.

Also has Radiance there in early October ,probably on it’s way back to the Gulf of Mexico.

Serenade also shows March and May.

Would that be 5 ships in Alaska??

Well if it’s true there’s room for a ship swap, it has happened before.

Not sure whether Radiance is a booking that hasn't been archived, or something to watch closely for. Yes, she currently shows cruises in 2023 relocating from Vancouver to San Diego, then onto Tampa via the Panama Canal - but not via Hawaii

I just think it hasn’t been deleted.

I also see Royal has swapped Voyager and Serenade around for the 2023 Northern Summer.  Serenade will be in Copenhagen and Voyager Fort Lauderdale.

As they say things are very fluid.

I think they swapped Serenade for Voyager because of a lot of cancellations about the political situation.

Hawaii is usually pretty upto date with their bookings.

Chiliburn We were on Voyager late January 2020 and although we don’t mind that class of ship.Their new enhancements didn’t work for us. Plus changes need to be made to the Diamond Lounge especially if Diamond + cannot go to the Concierge Lounge. Although Enchantment is a much older ship, many Australians still favour Rhapsody which is the same size! Don’t get me wrong we absolutely love Ovation, but much prefer a smaller ship like Radiance over Voyager or Explorer. Just my thoughts.😁

I was on voyager just before the shutdown and it was in pretty sad condition .

I think a ship year round would have to compete with P&O and Carnival.
It would have to be family friendly and have something for the kids.

How about Adventure of the seas ,we haven’t seen it in the pacific,it’s been updated with the app, waterslide and the later version of voyager class.

My money is on Adventure.

I think unfortunately it might be a smaller ship, which easily tender into some ports, and easy to fill year round! Water slides can easily be fitted. We used to cruise many years ago on Superstar Virgo  out of Singapore and they added a water slide etc.(actually never went on it again after the water slide, but that another story🤣🤣) SOme of the smaller ships have great Diamond Lounges too. I just want to get CRUISING SOON!

I see the captain of Wonder of the seas is Hindrick Loy .

Has anyone noticed that ? Has anyone got some speculation on that?

What happened to Charles Teige?

He was supposed to be captain on Wonder. I believe he did some of the ocean trails on Wonder.

Isn’t Hendrck Loy the Principle captain for our region?

It appears Royal has had ships in our region fro much longer than I would have imagined.

The Champion of the Seas delivered passengers in Williamstown in 1854. Destination of their 75 day half world.

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anyone noticed the full price of things onboard for the Australian season.

Booze package                  $151

Internet.                                $31

Wonderland and chops      $100 each

Jamies.                                 $84

Izumi.                                     $59

And there’s a strong possibility of a fuel surcharge.

RC is in something like $US 60 billion in debt and still not breaking even .

Egads! That looks painful. Per person?

Jamies is not high-end dining, so that is crazy, and I gather a Chops steak upgrade in the MDR will be increased to match too. My expensive more inclusive cruise on Celebrity Edge is looking better value by the day.

I have a gap early and late next year to add a couple of cruises. I like Royal, but they are not inspiring me to even look at their itineraries. I might have a look at what NCL has to offer.

NCL have what they call free drink packages, internet, specialty dining plus shore excursion credits.

Nothing is free, but based on those prices on the packages, you can get an inside cabin for nothing. Sadly, they have no Sydney to Sydney cruises this summer, and their price per day has generally gone up a fair bit. They all have a way of saving or making money aboard. For some it is higher prices, others is a cut in quality of food and service. HAL gained a reputation for being last in port and first out - slower cruising to the next port = big fuel savings.

It would be good if MSC come down under and give these American companies a run for their money .

It won’t be long ,the way they are building ships and they used to match your loyalty status. I love their new world class.

I have seen cruises on P&O and Princess including a drinks package for under $150 night.

Plenty Spaget, Garlic (yuk) and Chianti on MSC Chilli.    The MSC ships get differing reviews, but they offer good value.

The only thing I really want is the Internet, lucky I grabbed it for $24 a day.

Booze I get my free drinks with C&A and maybe someone will sneak me into the suite lounge. That’s enough for me.

They have 2 ships on the go ,utopia and Icon .They have to pay for them somehow.

They are a mass market brand, like Carnival ,Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Not very popular with the luxury cruisers.

Those  i tie cougars would be a handful , uncle Les.
