I wouldn't be scared of catching COVID on the ship. I'm triple vaccinated and getting over what I believe is Omicron (can't find a test anywhere but was notified I had a direct exposure), which has been a crummy week of congestion and cough, but I'm not afraid of it like I would have been a year ago. What I WOULD be afraid of is being taken out of my room and forced to isolate in an inside cabin for days on end. I am claustrophobic, and the fact that booking a balcony room to avoid that fate wouldn't protect me from being stuck in a windowless room without escape will keep me off cruising for awhile.

Understand completely and have the same issue, although I have overcome it to a point mostly by booking inside cabins to be able to cruise more. The day before we had to test we almost canceled. But we called the C&A d+ line and were told we could still decide at the port if we wanted to cancel for a full credit. They said quarantine happens on 3, in seaview cabins with room service and Vroom provided.  Most spend only 2 to 3 days there before being flown home on private jets. And if a couple kept together. We decided we could handle that if it happened. Wishing you well.

I have worried abou that too.  But I found a different way to look at it.  Even in an inside room, you have the ships camera channel, and I think they try to use balcony rooms for the passengers.  And where else would you get to quarantine with free movies and great room service?

It's not the 40 cruises, it's the way you seemed to imply that it made you better than the 1st time cruises.  If it matters, I am diamond (103 points), and I have done it the easy way with free cruises and 2-4 points per night since I go alone.  Regardless of level, what it means is you get certain perks, not that you are any more or less important than any one on the ship.  If anything, I envy you since you have been able to be on that many cruises.  I think it is great, but not that it makes you entitled to anything other than the listed perks.  And don't ever give up on Pinnacle, I have longer than I ever expected to and have survived things I probably should not have.  But having said that, try and enjoy every cruise as if were your last, a couple of years ago a 7 day on Liberty probably should have been, but my body waited until I was actually at a hospital before I had the heart attack that would have killed me if I had it the week before on the ship.  Please believe me when I say I am not making that up or execrating.  Maybe that is why I am spending so much time on this thread.

Next thing you know you'll be asking me to be your FB friend. Unfortunately FB limits me to 10 (due to unfortunate circumstances) and I am full at the moment. I will be glad to put you on my waitless for next time someone unfriends me.

No, go be miserable.  You've made your choice.  Clearly you are exactly who you sound like in your first post.  Why don't you go back to the guest services desk and see if you can get in more trouble then you have gotten into on Facebook.  It all makes sense now.

You assume a lot for someone so old and should be smart. I was rude to no one and the officer agreed with me that much went wrong.

My wife and I have 9 cruises booked in 2022, so it should be obvious how we feel about the current state of cruising.

Same here, just got off Freedom for Christmas and going again next weekend.  Have 12 booked for 2022. Just happy to be cruising again

And you needed to stand there and refuse to move to get a customer service manager to tell you that?  I'm glad he said that, if someone like you hadn't demanded to get someone to say that, no one would have known.  I am sure all the other crew were claiming everything was perfectly normal.  You cannot stand there and refuse to move unless a manager talks to you without being rude.  Well, in your world that may be normal, to the rest of us it is not.  And we have seen how nicely you respond to someone trying to be nice to you or anyone that doesn't agree with your actions or ridiculous claims and expectations, so yes, it is my assumption you were rude.  And it doesn't take age or intelligence to figure that out.  So quit trying to justify you behavior and expectations and go be you.

"Seemed to imply" Totally your interpretation.

Well I wanted to report my end to this wonderful cruise.  After all of the cancellations, crew apologies, Bars closed for unexplainable reasons, remaining activities that were packed, strange casino experience, and very odd passenger behavior (We saw a very drunk man just urinate on himself by the elevators).  I spent the last couple of hours before debarking in the infirmary after vomiting all night.   Tested negative for Covid.   Could have been Noro but the best guest was food poisoning (I had the Chicken Cordon Blu in the MDR).   So after this week long adventure, I know where this cruise will rank.

Through all of that, we tried to have fun.  Enjoyed the things that were offered.  I wonder if I were on the Jewel or Explorer (not to knock those ships), would I have felt this way.  You do have certain expectations with an Oasis class that were obviously not met.  I have debated expectations over and over here so not getting into that again.

The funniest thing is that a number of us are arguing in this thread about what fredmdcruisers said in a thread he started.  The post I made here was a silly answer to someone else that had nothing to with him.  I didn't mean to hijack it, fredmdcruisers started replying to my posts in this thread so I didn't look at the title.  I did not quote or mention him until after he responded to one of my posts.  I guess he didn't like what I said in his thread, so he decided to come after me in this one.   For anyone wondering about the original post it is here:

At least you can be pretty sure you've had the worst cruise ever, it can only go up from there.  I think it was the perfect storm of being denied at ports where they planned to restock (which may be caused by supply chain problems), increased capacity with reduced crew (either sick or in quarantine), financial weakness and things got so bad that even their contingency plans (I actually believe they have such things for at least some of the problems) were inadequate.  I know most of us understand what the cruise contract says, but if there was ever a cruise where they should give unrequired compensation, this was it.  I wonder if they will bother to send out the survey, they already know what probably the most loyal RCCL people will say.  It sounds to me as if you at least tried to have fun, which unfortunately is the only thing each passenger can control.  And I think the exact opposite of how the energy of the passengers and crew were on a first post covid cruise and that will affect everyone in sort of a horrible feedback loop.  I really hope RCCL decides to compensate the passengers for this cruise, yes even for the guy I was arguing with.
