So, what would happen if you requested a FCC for an upcoming cruise in January 2022. Then you booked a cruise for, I don’t know, June 2022. 
61 days before the cruise you realize you can’t go because of a work obligation. Can you cancel the June cruise and get a monetary refund or once it’s converted to FCC it’s sort of like a gift card on NCL that can’t be converted to cash? 
Just playing out different scenarios in my head. I don’t plan on asking for FCC because January is the only time of year we can travel (as you can see by my cruise history 🤣).

if you wait until 61 days out for a June sailing, you're too late:

for all cruises departing through May 31, 2022, cancel up to 61 days prior for a full refund.

cancel up to 121 days for June; at 61, you get a 50% Cancellation Fee.

I'm thinking the FCC issued for these POM cancellations is nonrefundable.

I guess we'll see what happens, but the rep I spoke with said that it was eligible because NCL canceled me more than twice.  She did say that we would, of course, not get the 25% bonus FCC which we understand.  Worst case is we have FCC for another cruise, but we are so frustrated with cost going up each time it feels like we are being taken advantage of.

I think NCL got this all figured out.  Any FCC you get will be less valuable due to most likely higher prices, NCL will spin it as higher demand, but of course demand will be higher because the FCC will expire on 12/31/2022 and people don’t want to lose the FCC.

I just noticed this too - it's saying the new FCC will indeed be "POM-NRD" which is nonrefundable.

That seems to be the final (for now) version.  The May 31 version came and went over the past day or so, but it was likely just bad IT that allowed preliminary versions to leak through to the public.  That said, it may have given us a glimpse of what's to come over the next several weeks.

Ohhhh, I totally agree! They're all flying BUT we are driving! They tried to get their flights to come in a day ahead but NCL said too late flights are already booked.

Using your cabin key while playing at the casino (inserted into the machine for slots/video poker) or rated at the table.  Past experiences is that about 5000 points on your trip on slots the host will write you a certificate on the spot.  $5.00 into the slot machine equals one point.  How much you are willing to gamble is up to you and if you don’t usually play it might be better just to pay for your cruise fare vs waiting for an offer as casino at sea is not for everyone.  Some will say they had great experiences and some will say they lost a lot money and did not have a great return. YMMV.

So is my January 2022 cruise booked with a Peace of mind FCC that was generated in late august 2021 already considered non refundable? Even if NCL cancels the cruise?

Thanks BennyBrun, this is very enlightening. I didn't realize how many points one needed to trigger a free cruise. Do the casino points add up similarly to Latitudes levels (across cruises and across different NCL ships)? Cheers and Happy New Year! 🙂

Happy New Year.  They do but it expires yearly and it is across NCL brand only.

• Bookings cancelled inside final payment that are not paid in full will default to the standard refund process with penalties applied.
• If the booking is outside final payment, regardless of cancellation method, refunds will work as usual. If a guest paid using an FCC, it will be credited back to the guest profile.

We are scheduled on the Breakaway 1/23/22. I keep reading and rereading the Terms and Conditions for POM cancellation. Are you able to cancel the day before or is there a window of time before your cruise that you can choose this?

I think they're still having issues with bookings not cancelling automatically at PIF date.

Not sure if this would be the situation but NCL has a 12 month payment plan available, so you can in fact cruise before your cruise is completely paid for.

I got a call from my PCC today as I had left her a message yesterday when she was off.   She said I would not receive a cancellation notice until the FCCs had posted to my account    Makes sense as it leaves an audit trail. Then when FCCs post I can rebook.  She read me the entire instructions she had received from home office. Under no circumstances should you say you flat out want to cancel, but delay cruising under POM    She was furious that NCL did not do this before Christmas when they had so many cancellations and people were hurt financially.   She is such a kind individual and we’ve been blessed to have her help for 14 years.

No, with the financing plan the cruise is considered fully paid when the contract is signed.
