You may want to specify, but some shows’ cast could be referred to as a dance troupe.

Usually each ship has a group of dancers who perform a couple of shows during the cruise. We are now booked on Oasis, which has the show "Cats" but I don't see any other dance performances during the week. Just wondered . . .

Look at the current Oasis sailing in the RCI app and see of any of the shows seem like they may have dance performances in them.

I remember I was on Breakaway (NCL) and they had specific dance group called Burn The Floor. Who would put on shows in random area's and had a main show in main theatre. They were amazing dancer's.

There were never "dance troupes".  It sounds like you mean, Are there still shows on the ships?

 

Yes, there are still shows.

 

Oasis class ships and a few others have a Broadway show.

 

The other ships all have "cruise ship productions."

Symphony = Hairspray

 

Liberty = Saturday Night Fever

Independence = Grease

 

Some would say that Anthem has a Broadway show, We Will Rock You, but the fact is that WWRY never played on Broadway.  It was a big West End hit, though.

Thanks. I was thinking of what you called cruise ship productions. Guess I am on the wrong ship, as we will be on Oasis and I don't particularly like CATS! Oh well.

When is your Oasis cruise?  Oasis has both CATS and several other shows.  It has:

June 17; moved a February cruise to June because of surgery!

How soon before your cruise do reservations open? I'm on the Oasis this spring and reservations aren't available online yet.

Book shows and dining times as soon as you board.  They fill up quickly.

If you go on any ship expecting a Broadway or West End quality show you will be sadly disappointed.

The casts of the production shows do the best they can and some are very good performers.  But, none are up to Broadway or West End standards.

I saw it as well and quite a few folks walked out on my cruise back in 2011.  It was the first year and hopefully it got better

At production shows (not the broadway numbers) I've always heard the CD introduce the cast as the 'Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers'. Perhaps this is what OP is referring to.
