Owner's Suite Explorer of the Seas

 Share

Recommended Posts

Morning.

We won our Royal Up bid for the Owner's Suite on Explorer (🥰) - when I google search for perks and such, I receive different messages - probably because of the design of all the ships.  Please share with me all the fun details of the room and the perks!  2 adults and 2 teens - this is a do over cruise since we got Covid last time 🙃

I am excited to have access to a room with perks that I normally wouldn't be able to!

I have tried the search feature unsuccessfully - keeps telling me community unavailable; so feel free to link me to threads.

Thank you!!

Your biggest benefit is a great room with lots of space, a large balcony, and a large bathroom. I think the OS rooms are great, esp if you had 4 in a room.

I don't know about the bigger balcony. The Grand Suite balcony on Voyager class ships seems much bigger than the Owner's Suite balcony.

Yes, you are correct. Sorry about that.  The bedroom section goes out more and uses that space. I was thinking the next larger class ship.

We haven't been on a Voyager ship yet, and I was surprised to see the balcony when I researched. I'm trying to decide if I get the chance for a Royal Up if I would try it...

If you don't mind me asking, what was your original room class and how much did you bid?  I will be on the Explorer later this year and was trying to figure out what the bid structure might be like.

Thanks!

we had a spacious ocean view balcony - I have no idea how to find the classification (would appreciate learning) and we bid 365 for the OS

I have the same problem of trying to understand what Class (Sky) applies to what suite and to make it more difficult it seems that the ship class (Oasis, Quantum) gives different perks.

I am specifically looking at Navigator and I cannot find all of the information anywhere.

We had two connected owners suites when we took my wife's parents and our three girls on a cruise on Adventure which is also a Voyager class ship.

Great amount of space; the extra space in the living area where some guests sleep really opens things up.  You'll really appreciate that.

Agree with the balcony comments - the room eats into some of the balcony area.  Still was a sufficient balcony - just a little smaller than a grand suite balcony if I remember right.

We just had an OS on Navigator and will have one on Explorer in mid March. Similar cabins except the longer balcony (3 cabins wide) on Navigator...but not concerned to lose some of that outdoor space on Explorer. Love the perks especially the ability to order from the dining room menu....Breakfast was great as was the desert delivery we had several evenings as we relaxed and watched a movie.

Hoping the SL on Explorer is set up better than Navigator. Absolutely hated how the seating was arranged. Crazy me but I actually thought what would happen if I came late at night and rearranged it.

I think Denzil would have had a melt down.

I just placed a Royal Up bid for a cruise in Feb. Do you mind sharing which sailing you are on? I was wondering approximately when I would find out if my bid was accepted. TIA!

Finding out varies completely...I got my congratulations letter a week before my Jan 17th sailing on Navigator. Others in my roll call never were notified on their bids being denied....and some have gotten their denial once onboard...So at this point don't count on any notification being the same.

can you please tell me more about the suite lounge?  thanks!!!

The suite Lounge is a lot like the Diamond lounge, a place to ge a drink and a snack before dinner. If you need something the concierge is there to help.

we really enjoyed it. Met a lot of nice folks.

The thing I like about the OS on the Explorer is that my wife does not like the layout so we typically stay in the GS.  😉

Are you allowed to book specialty restaurants for suite guests and others family members not traveling in a suite ?   We are traveling on the Voyager in a Grand Suite, but two other family members will be in a balcony cabin.  We would just be looking for a table for four.

What I meant was since we have priority dining reservations does everyone have to be a suite guest to take advantage of it if we book it for everyone.   Can they sit with us in a reserved section of the theatre say if they are not suite guests ?   Can we order a room service lunch and invite them ?   I understand they cannot take advantage of the concierge lounge with us, but other than that it is not spelled out.
