mysty - many apologies for going off track.  Enough of this rubbish; looking forward to reading about the real subject of this thread!

Lola, please don't worry about going off piste!  It is entertaining and informative! 🥰

With your permission (above), I'll add one more to the OT place name sub-thread.  There's a town in Southern Illinois, a quite rural area, named Vienna but pronounced Vi-anna.  Before you go blaming the rubes, hear this:  the founders agreed that the town would be named after the first child born there; the first birth was twins, named Vi and Anna, so the town was named Vianna.  But when the US Geological Survey boffins came through to map the area, they assumed the locals were ignorant and 'fixed' it for them by writing it in as Vienna.  Of course you can never change a government decision, but the people have stayed true to their promise on the pronunciation!  [I love a story where the underdog gets even...]

In South Dakota I stopped at a petrol station and asked if I was on the right road for Pierre. Well, it's a French word so I assumed it was Pee-air.

"Don't know any Pee-air."

"You must. It's your state capital!"

"Oh, you mean Peer."

So I knew better than to ask for Day Mwan in Iowa.

Thanks Turtle!  Ours was a group tour and we moved in a single row right along the railing.   We could easily lean in to get a closer view of the stitches.   Incredible!

We did a similar tour a few years ago and it is one of my highlights as I long wanted to see the tapestry. I bought a scarf with a print of some of the scenes so I had a tangible memory to wear. I just checked and non of that mentioned by dusababy and jpalbany is on my scarf. 😁

I agree the single line and audiobox worked well. There were a couple of times I wished I could stay a bit longer to check something out on the tapestry but realised I was more than happy to see it in full.

Currently docked in Falmouth.  Chilling on the pool deck.  Underline the chilling bit.   Sunshine with a crisp breeze.   We have a 1:00 pm excursion to St Ives.

Keep an eye out for a man with seven wives.

I'm on it!  Should be easy to spot.   If he is following the pattern in evidence on the ship he will be following 7 women.  Seems the men with female partners here tend to trail behind them. 😁

I bet that does not include you.  Sorry it is a bit chilly today.

Sometime - maybe not until you get home - it would be good to have an idea of how many  on board, and are there some compatible types, and what nationalities;  and the quality of staff etc.  But please do not bother with this sort of stuff at present, we can wait.  Just  'enjoy'!

Rough estimate of passengers is about 490 passengers.   Staff as always is exceptional!  Our butler is the best we've ever had over our 314 days sailing with Silversea.  I'm finding the vibe is different.   Folks not quite as friendly as in the before times.  I blame the deterioration of our social skills due to lockdowns and fear porn around the nasty.  Mostly American passengers is my guess.   Sprinkling of Canucks and Germans.

Myster and I take turns in the lead and when space permits shoulder to elbow (I am on the short side).

We did the Grand Mediterranean Voyage (Athens to Lisbon), which was the first part of the Grand Europe Voyage you are now on.  Mostly Americans and Canadians, but there were also many Brits and Aussies aboard, with a sprinkling of Germans.  We met a lovely Canadian couple travelling with his sister that stayed on for the full voyage to Stockholm that you are now on, and they made sure everyone they encountered felt welcome.  We stayed clear of those who were not so nice.

Well, the British are coming to join you in Iceland!

Hope to meet you then as I really enjoy your posts.

Thanks….

Late return from the St Ives excursion so we had to hustle to get ready for our Kaiseki reservation.   Early departure for tomorrow's excursion.   Hopefully pics from both can be uploaded tomorrow afternoon.

Also, the latest info from the Captain is that there are currently no cases of COVID on the Moon!  No passengers and no crew!  With any luck this will continue to be the case!

Indeed it does JP.  We're not as sprightly as you and Chris.  And we don't photograph as well either.  😅

Myster and I are celebrating 44 years of wedded bliss tonight with dinner at La Dame.   I am one very lucky bumpkin!  The universe conspired to provide me with a life partner who has the patience of Job, a sparkling sense of humour and a kindness that keeps me cushioned from the bumps in life's road!

Happy Anniversary mysty and Myster. It sounds like you are well suited with both being kind souls and a great sense of humour.
