Will the casino be open while we are docked at Princess Cays?

I know the casino is usually closed while a ship is docked, but I wasn’t sure if the rule was different at Princess Cays, since it’s cruise-owned. I also came across a Princess cruise review from February that mentioned their casino was open while they were at Princess Cays, so wondering if Carnival’s might be too.

The casino has opened both times we’ve gone to Princess Cay in March and April.  It is NOT open at Grand Turk.

Actually it was open last month when we were in Grand Turk

Sometimes having the casino open while in a port may be more influenced if the cruise has been designated for Ultra or Premium casino guests.

Someone who is not eligible for these fares may not even know about that status prior to the sail date.  Once on board, they might hear about drawings or special contests for casino guests.  If they don't, they may erroneously think the open casino time in port is dependent upon the port instead.

Whether or not the casino is open is also controlled by local law and I believe Bahamian law dictates that the casino be closed.

Not so sure about that...I was in Coco Cay a couple weeks ago and the casino was open. There may be a law, but it also may be conditional, or specific language factored into the Island lease. As another, separate example, right here in Florida, a few years back, I was in Key West on Celebrity and due to high wind, we could not safely sail thrust away from the pier, so we spent the night in Key West...with the casino open.

Yes, there can always be exceptions in the law.
