Princess Casino - Money Left In Account

On our last cruise we didn't expect the casino to be closed the last night and ended up with $750 in the account. The customer service desk just told us we "should" receive a check in "4 weeks or so.  They had no other information for us. Were we supposed to have been given a form or anything in order to "put in a claim" for the money or do they just eventually mail a check. They really didn't seem to have any other information for us and I'm hoping there wasn't something we were supposed to do that they failed to tell us about.

One would think that even if the casino is closed to gambling on the last night of a cruise, they could have a cashier available there to close accounts?  Would save both the passengers and Princess the hassle of mailed paper checks.

That would be too simple and logical.  Add this to my list of why I don't trust Princess.  I rarely leave more than $50 on my casino account at any one time.  Always cash out the second to the last night and either quit playing or use "real" money for the slots.  It may be just me, but more often than not, I lose more on the last night.

@Thrak  I hope you receive your promised check.

Have had this happen and yes a check has arrived in the mail in 3 + weeks. Usually they would leave a message on the stateroom phone advising to cash in money prior to the casino closing. But I have been on two voyages when the casino closed several hours earlier than they had advised.  Once the Captain gives the advice the ship is within maritime waters and there are gaming restrictions for that country the casino closes within a few minutes.

You mean like they have with the app 🤪 I'm sure there are plenty special rules to follow with gambling accounts that I am unaware of, but it also appears that the connection between casino and stateroom accounts is a one-way-street. No problem charging to your casino account from your stateroom account, but you can't credit winnings or more often, leftovers back as far as I know? So why couldn't they just let you do that on the medallion app, or stateroom TV, or at GS, or automatically by default at the end of the cruise?

This might still violate Canadian law regarding casinos. Just like the weird Canadian rule that only 1 bar per deck can be open at one time. We encountered that on the Majestic. Last night Crown Grill bar was closed and Good Spirits was open

That's the problem. The second to the last night the casino was closed.

Previously our refundable credit checks were received within a month but now it’s been 2 months without receiving it. I’ve read posts about it taking even longer now which might be the same for casino refunds…long delays.

By the time I found out I had a credit, the casino was closed on my last night. Disembarked The Regal on March 3 and I am still waiting on my check.

It’s likely the same revenue section who processes all types of refunds & they are extreme slow now…read a recent post that an $800 refund from December was finally issued.

Have always received a call from the casino on the next to last day telling us to come cash out our casino accounts. We get two separate calls if both of us have cash left in the slots.

Same here but not on this last cruise. No message at all.

Glad to hear that refunds are starting to trickle in.  It really shouldn't take rocket science to process these refunds.

Crossing my fingers that I will hear back from Customer Relations and/or upper management to hear how my cancelled claim is progressing.

BTW...Cancelled claims are suppose to come with interest.  Hope Casino money comes with interest too.

Funny. We also got a check for forgotten $$ left in our Princess account yesterday also. They must have been cleaning up their past accounts.

Got our checks!  Just a hair over 3 weeks. We were so peeved about the casino being closed that we totally spaced on getting the last bit of cash back from Customer Service. I can't remember how much it was but not a lot. I "think" my wife had something like $13 and I had maybe $8. Stupid to forget it but, like I said, we were pretty displeased at the time and this is just the icing on the cake. D'Oh!  Ah, well. At least we did get the casino money - $749.87. Wowie Zowie!  I really thought it would take a very long time and possibly never happen.

Weirdly, the checks came in envelopes with a prominent Carnival Cruise Lines return address. It had a large "Whale Tail" from the Carnival ships, and a large font saying "Carnival" as the first line. The second line said Carnival Cruise Lines. While I understand that CCL owns Princess CCL is not the same as Carnival Cruise Lines - which is also owned by CCL. So much for worrying that the checks, if they came, would be in something that is unidentifiable and looks like junk mail.

I believe the casinos are run by Carnival Players Club but I may be mistaken
